Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the role

We're hiring a Senior Manager, Lifecycle Marketing to own and lead our CRM program, driving business growth by enhancing the customer experience and improving retention. This is a key leadership role, overseeing all transactional and lifecycle communications as we scale rapidly into new products and verticals. Your goal will be to lead and manage projects end-to-end, creating a seamless, personalized experience that ensures customers understand and successfully use Flex.

This is a unique opportunity for a leader who is both a strategic visionary and a hands-on executor. Given our stage, you'll need to roll up your sleeves and get in the weeds to drive results.

What you’ll do
  • Define and lead CRM strategy: You'll define strategic frameworks and champion the tech and tooling needed to create scalable, personalized customer journeys that align with business and product goals.
  • Drive new product and lifecycle comms: Lead strategy and development of lifecycle communication for all new verticals and product launches, with a focus on advanced segmentation and user adoption.
  • Establish program analytics: Define core metrics for the CRM program and individual campaigns. You'll lead reporting and analysis, transforming data into a strategic narrative that informs key business decisions and drives improvements.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team: Providing guidance on strategy, execution, and professional growth while empowering them to own and iterate on their initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partnering with leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Compliance to ensure all communications meet business objectives and regulatory compliance.
Key Qualifications
  • 7+ years in CRM or lifecycle marketing, with 2+ years in a leadership role, preferably within a highly regulated industry.
  • Proven success: Demonstrated track record of building, scaling, and optimizing CRM programs with a direct focus on business-level impact and measurable ROI.
  • Strategic and hands-on: A skilled individual contributor who can define high-level strategy and independently drive projects to completion with an outcome-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional analytical skills: Proficient at defining program-level metrics, interpreting data, and translating insights into a strategic narrative for leadership.
  • Future-focused: A champion of CRM technology, adept at leveraging the latest tools for scalable, efficient, and personalized campaigns.
  • Cross-functional leader: Ability to influence and lead diverse teams, driving alignment toward a shared vision in a fast-paced environment.

The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks. For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $145,000 - $164,000.

This will be a Hybrid role, working 3 days a week in our NYC or SF Office.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
