MongoDB is hiring a Senior Manager, HR Compliance to join our Americas Employee Experience team. This role reports to the Senior Director of Americas Employee Experience and is responsible for evolving, refining, and operationalizing a comprehensive compliance framework and strategy across the region.
The role includes direct management of one team member responsible for immigration and global mobility within the Americas region, ensuring these programs are effectively aligned with compliance requirements and broader people strategies.
As a key member of the Americas Employee Experience leadership team, this individual will help drive a culture of compliance and operational excellence, while also supporting team-wide planning, key initiatives, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
This role partners closely with regional Employee Experience leaders (Americas, EMEA, APAC) and maintains strong alignment with the Global Risk & Compliance function to ensure consistency in processes, policies, controls, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the continued development, refinement, and execution of a scalable HR compliance framework across the Americas (policy, training, audits, and programs), including a roadmap for future capabilities
- Build and embed a culture of compliance and best practices across the People Team and broader organization
- Develop and implement programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies; ensure in-region compliance of HR policies, processes, and programs
- Own and oversee immigration and global mobility programs for the Americas through direct management of a dedicated team member, ensuring regulatory compliance, effective vendor partnership, and alignment with business and talent needs
- Partner with Employee Relations and HR leadership to support compliant handling of employee matters, providing guidance, frameworks, and risk-based input (without direct ownership of ER processes)
- Partner closely with the Global Risk & Compliance function to align on controls, processes, policies, and audit activities; support internal and external audits as required
- Lead regular compliance audits and risk assessments, including policy creation, documentation, manager training, and systems/process approvals to identify risks and drive corrective actions
- Collaborate with HR leadership to create, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and effective escalation frameworks
- Partner closely with Legal to stay current on regulatory changes and translate requirements into actionable guidance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate compliance considerations into business processes and decision-making
- Design and deliver compliance training programs to educate HR staff, managers, and employees on obligations and best practices
- Establish and maintain effective channels for reporting compliance concerns and support investigations as needed
- Prepare and present regular compliance reports to senior management highlighting key metrics, trends, and risks
- Build relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and external stakeholders as needed
- In partnership with other regional HR Compliance Leads, drive key operational rhythms, including project management of or collaborations on global initiatives and coordination of quarterly business reviews (QBRs)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in HR compliance, employment law, or related field
- 5+ years of experience applying U.S. employment law across multiple states
- 3+ years of experience building and implementing HR compliance programs (policies, audits, training)
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Experience partnering with Legal, Employee Relations, and/or Risk/Compliance functions
- Experience supporting audits, including controls, documentation, and remediation
- Experience delivering compliance training to HR and/or managers
- Experience operating in ambiguous, fast-paced, or high-growth environments
- Experience working in multi-state or complex organizational environments
- Master’s degree or JD
- Experience supporting multi-country HR compliance programs (Americas or global)
- Experience overseeing or partnering on immigration and global mobility programs
- Experience working in a public company or SOX-regulated environment
- Experience in the technology industry or other high-growth environments
- Professional certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent
The Employee Experience Team at MongoDB is the face of HR to our global employee population. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package.
