As Senior Manager, Music Marketing & Partnerships, reporting to the Director of Label Affairs you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the partnership, distribution and promotion strategy for Riot’s music efforts. Collaborating with Music Supervision, artist and label partners, global music distributors, and internal Riot teams, you will ensure seamless execution of music initiatives that support the overall goals of Riot’s Games.

You will lead music promotion and high-impact campaigns aligned with game objectives, while also driving Riot Games Music (RGM)’s overall music marketing strategy. This includes advising the creative, legal and Business Affairs teams, developing strategy and marketing plans, managing budget allocations, and coordinating vendors, consultants, and global resources across all music releases. Your team will set goals for music promotion, build partnerships with artists, and oversee music distribution, promotion, analytics, catalog management, and future repertoire planning.  

Additionally, you will serve as a key strategic thought partner  for Games and Entertainment Publishing, ensuring that music marketing efforts are integrated to support the goals of each game pillar, acting as the critical link between music and Riot’s broader business objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the promotion and commercial exploitation efforts for all of Riot’s owned catalog - from game scores, film/TV soundtracks and artist or IP led songs 
  • Lead global artist marketing partnerships, music distribution, and promotion strategies across all RGM releases 
  • Develop novel strategies promote Riot’s IP via music and leverage fandom of Riot’s music to support game’s goals 
  • Develop and execute global music marketing plans for priority releases in partnership with Music Supervision, Game Leadership Teams, Entertainment Marketing, and regional teams.
  • Strengthen DSP relationships, pitch new records for playlisting, and explore broader platform partnership opportunities for our past catalog
  • Manage label and artist relationships, ensuring proper integration of music needs and supporting artist involvement in campaigns.
  • Produce and distribute analytical reports to inform creative and business decisions, optimizing music strategies.
  • SupportScale music strategy globally in key regions, including China, Korea, EMEA, and Brazil.
  • Oversee content operations, implementing processes to optimize music distribution globally.
  • Collaborate with Business Affairs on key label partnership decisions.
  • Analyze data to inform artist selection, manage global spend, and project ROI.
  • Manage music marketing budgets for key campaigns, ensuring effective allocation.
  • Implement digital marketing campaigns with Riot’s social team to maximize music discovery and amplify player engagement with music.
  • Support and advise on music strategies across all Riot IPs, including Esports, Valorant, and League Music.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to expand the value of Riot’s music catalog in collaboration with the Music Supervision team.
Required Qualifications: 
  • 7-10 years experience in music marketing and artist partnerships or similar roles
  • Proven history creating and execute global marketing campaigns with experience in China and APAC,
  • Strong knowledge of working with major DSPs like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc., including negotiating and maintaining relationships with these platforms.
  • Proven track record in managing relationships with record labels, artists, and managers, from negotiating deals to developing collaborative projects.
  • Minimum 2 years experience managing and developing a team of marketers, as well as coordinating with cross-functional teams (e.g., artists, product teams, legal, and PR).
  • Knowledge of licensing, publishing, and intellectual property as it pertains to music, especially in a gaming context
  • Experience in tracking and analyzing the success of marketing campaigns through key performance indicators (KPIs), ROI, and data from streaming platforms or digital marketing campaigns. Ability to make adjustments to optimize campaign performance based on metrics.
  • Deep understanding of evolving music consumption trends, including how younger audiences (e.g., Gen Z) engage with music across social platforms, interactive media, and experiential marketing.
