What You’ll Do

The Foundry Customer Quality & Reliability (Q&R) role is responsible to collaborate with foundry customer and relevant team for implementation of customer metrics as well as and identification and swift resolution of product quality and reliability issues.  This position has responsibility for Foundry Quality & Reliability related reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. Location: Daily onsite presence in San Jose HQ location in alignment with our Flexible Work policy with an average of 10% travel per month

  • Responsible for managing and coordinating overall customer quality and reliability requirements specific to foundry manufacturing services, where customer-provided designs are fabricated in Samsung’s advanced semiconductor fabs.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to address and resolve quality and reliability issues that arise throughout the silicon manufacturing lifecycle - from tape-out to wafer delivery.
  • Supervise and identify quality and reliability challenges, developing strong customer relationships as you determine the best solutions.
  • Communicate and escalate customer quality and reliability issues—such as lot-specific excursions, latent defect trends, or field-return investigations—to internal engineering, manufacturing, and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with key design/development/quality and reliability engineers and managers. This is accomplished through daily interactions and providing exceptional customer support. This is critical as it assures Samsung interests are adequately represented in the customer's decision making process.
  • Participate in cross-functional efforts to implement lessons learned from customer issues into internal process improvement, design-for-reliability guidelines, and advanced process development.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to enable solutions to customer
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Samsung Korea HQ counterparts to ensure efficient and accurate communication with the customer.
  • Track customer-specific reliability expectations and qualification methodologies driven by their strategic direction, and communicate findings to internal engineering teams to ensure alignment with foundry capabilities and enhance competitiveness.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors with 15+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 13+ years or PhD with 10+ years in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Proven functional knowledge or minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Foundry business including device reliability, interconnect reliability, design for reliability or product reliability
  • A broad knowledge of Fab processes and equipment will be a competitive advantage as well as previous Quality Management System (QMS) experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization particularly in a global environment and experience in working with external stakeholders
  • Relevant experience across a broad spectrum of fab manufacturing organizations including manufacturing engineering, integration, characterization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical skills and ability in structured problem-solving, with a methodical approach to identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Base Pay Range
$180,950$289,050 USD
