Job Description:

The Disney Television Studios (DTS) Finance team leads financial planning and analysis for content produced by 20th Television, 20th Animation, and Searchlight TV—work that directly shapes financial results across all three Disney Entertainment pillars. This requires strong partnership with studio leadership, cross‑functional teams, finance and controllership groups across Disney Entertainment.

The Senior Manager, Finance is a key leadership role within DTS Finance, responsible for maintaining accurate television series ultimates and delivering critical financial insights across the studio’s content portfolio.

This role helps lead profit management reporting across TV series, ensures accurate TV ultimates are updated for company-wide financial planning processes (Forecast, Close, AOP, and LRP), and evaluates financial impacts across all Disney Entertainment pillars. The Senior Manager will serve as a strategic partner to FP&A, Controllership, Business Affairs, and Strategy, enabling data-driven decision-making and financial transparency across the organization.

Success in this role requires deep experience in TV ultimate accounting, TV residuals and participations, stakeholder management, and the use of advanced technologies to enhance financial analysis and decision‑making.

This individual will build a deep knowledge of DTS, TV distribution strategies, Disney accounting methodologies, and studio finance. This position requires excellent communication, presentation, strong interpersonal and time management skills, as well as acute attention to detail.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Series profitability and greenlights management: Maintain TV ultimates, including co-productions, throughout forecasting cycles, reflecting latest distribution deals and costs. Ownership of greenlight analysis of new and returning series. Update executive team on series performance.
  • TV ultimate revenue management: Ownership of series ultimate revenue consolidation for Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Content Sales Licensing Other (CSLO), and Content Valuation (CVA). Help reconcile revenue forecast against accounting treatments, perform variance analysis, and communicate trends.
  • Fiscal impact to pillars profitability based on ultimate updates: Proactively model, quantify and communicate impact to company financials driven by ultimate revenue and cost updates.
  • Forecasting and R&O management: Partner with FP&A to provide participations and residuals costs forecasts and updates driven by ultimate revenue changes, and actively flag Risks & Opportunities  
  • Ownership of quarterly close deliverables: Prepare quarterly ultimate Flux for divisional controller, reconcile inventory, participations, and residuals balances. Publish quarterly ultimate costs to controllership for accurate and timeline cost allocation to Disney Entertainment pillars.
  • High-impact ad hoc reporting: Assist with executive inquiries from Business Affairs to Strategy, to Finance. Influence key decisions by synthesizing complex financial data into clear recommendations.
  • Finance Transformation /AI Integration: Key Finance Transformation resource. Drive automation projects and technology‑enabled enhancements. Partner with Finance Transformation consultants to enhance IT systems during companywide initiative.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred in Finance or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, TV ultimates, accounting, studio finance, or a related role within the entertainment industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, financial modeling, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, independent thinker with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Champions new technologies with a strong learning mindset.
  • Experience presenting complex financial data to senior-level executives.
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion/Oracle and similar reporting systems is a plus.
The hiring range for this position in California is $152,800.00-$186,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
