We are looking for a leader to own the DevOps charter at Planet DDS. This is a highly visible and influential role with opportunity to work with the engineering leadership across the company. You will lead a distributed team in US, UK, and Bangladesh that currently supports our applications built on top of Azure and AWS. You will manage relationships for AWS and Azure. You will drive efficiency across the engineering organization by optimizing cloud spend and influencing the architecture along the way.
*This is a hybrid role (onsite 2x per week) and is based out of either our Irvine, CA, Atlanta, GA or Phoenix, AZ offices.
Job Duties:
  • Lead the DevOps team
  • Build and own deployment, change management, DR, Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code strategies for the engineering organization
  • Build and execute on a roadmap of initiatives to optimize cloud spend
  • Build and execute on a roadmap to build a highly scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure
  • Build and execute roadmap of features to support the engineering organization for upcoming feature launches
  • Establish and maintain best practices for cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • Design, develop and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure as code tools
  • Participate in code and design reviews to ensure the quality and maintainability of code.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7 years of hands on experience with Azure (preferred) and AWS.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience of leading a distributed team of infrastructure engineers
  • Deep experience with FinOps and cost optimization
  • Understanding of distributed system architecture
  • Strong executor with ability to get things done
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
