Rush Street Interactive (NYSE: RSI) is a market leader in online casino and sports betting, currently operating real-money gaming with our brands: BetRivers.com, PlaySugarHouse.com, and RushBet.co. We’re building bridges between online, social and land-based gaming businesses to create amazing, integrated experiences that keep players in the game.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead Corporate GL and drive the monthly close across the accounting organization. You will serve as a key partner to the SEC reporting function to deliver the consolidation, financial statements, and related disclosures. You will also work closely with Accounts Payable, Treasury, FP&A, Accounting Operations, and International Finance to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time, and to resolve issues before they affect the close. This role is designed to grow with the person in it.

We're looking for a leader with presence and credibility, someone who is vocal, organized, and able to walk into any room, across any reporting line, and move people toward a common goal. The ideal candidate combines a strong command of US GAAP and SOX with public company experience and a proven track record of leading teams, jumping in to solve problems, driving accountability, and building cross-functional momentum in environments where influence matters as much as positional authority.

We are seeking candidates based in the Chicagoland area, as this role requires occasional in-person collaboration at our Chicago office.

What You'll Do:

  • Orchestrates the monthly close – Drive the close calendar and hold the entire accounting organization to it, from GL through consolidated results. Be vocal and decisive, step in to solve problems as they arise, and escalate early.
  • Corporate GL Accounting – Oversee Corporate GL accounting across cash, prepaid and other assets, long-lived assets, investments, accounts payable, and accrued and long-term liabilities, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • SEC Reporting Partnership – Partner with the SEC reporting team on the consolidation, financial statements, and related disclosures for the 10-Q and 10-K. Ensure the global consolidation is accurate, complete, and delivered ahead of each reporting deadline, including intercompany and multi-currency considerations and alignment between operating results and consolidated financial statements.
  • Reviewer first – Serve primarily as a reviewer of work prepared by the team. Prepare only certain non-routine or out-of-scope items.
  • Team leadership and development –Set clear expectations, coach in real time, build leadership capability within the team, and foster a culture of ownership, urgency, and accountability.
  • Broad technical accounting knowledge – Maintain baseline knowledge across many accounting areas so you can jump in, support any team during close, and serve as a first line of authority on US GAAP questions.
  • SOX and controls – Understand SOX requirements and keep Corporate GL controls well designed and operating effectively. Apply ongoing risk assessment and strengthen the control environment as the business scales.
  • Finance leadership spokesperson – Serve as the voice of the corporate close with leaders across Finance. Communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly, and anticipate dependencies across teams before they become blockers.
  • Systems and chart of accounts – Learn our ERP system and chart of accounts inside and out, and use that knowledge to review, troubleshoot, and guide the team.
  • Process Improvement and Automation – Identify and lead opportunities to automate and improve processes across the Corporate Accounting function, including the use of AI tools.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership – Partner with Latin America Finance to ensure global alignment of accounting processes and policies, and collaborate with leaders across accounting, finance, and the broader organization.

What You'll Bring:

  • BA/BS/MS degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA required.
  • Public company experience required, whether inside the controllership of a public company, at a public accounting firm serving public companies, or ideally both.
  • Working knowledge of SOX and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in US GAAP with the ability to independently evaluate and guide accounting conclusions, plus baseline knowledge across many accounting areas to jump in and support as needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, the kind that moves people and drives accountability. Experience leading in structured, high-stakes environments is a meaningful differentiator.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing a team in an accounting or finance function, with a strong review orientation.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to track multiple moving parts across teams and keep close processes on schedule.
  • Ability to serve as the voice of the close with Director and VP level leaders, and to exercise influence without direct authority across teams regardless of reporting lines.
  • Clear, direct, and vocal communicator with the ability to set expectations, deliver feedback, and escalate appropriately.
  • Experience with ERP systems and willingness to learn our system and chart of accounts in depth; NetSuite experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with multi-currency accounting and intercompany transactions across global entities, and how they flow into consolidation and external reporting.
  • Comfort leveraging AI and automation tools to improve close accuracy, reduce manual work, and scale team output.
  • Able to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally #LI-REMOTE #LI-PROMOTE

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
