Senior Contracts Managers are entrusted with our most important asset:  the trust and respect of our customers.  The official face of Raytheon to the customer, Senior Contracts Managers handle essential communication, negotiation, and contract management throughout every phase of our customer relationship. Working as a strategic business partner within Raytheon, our ultimate aim is to deliver balanced deals that ensure mutual long-term success

The individual in this role will be responsible for the proposal, capture and negotiation of a wide portfolio of efforts within the Air and Space Defense Systems, Strike Initiatives. Specifically, the individual will be a member of the StormBreaker® program contracts team.  The StormBreaker® glide bomb is an all-weather, day/night, smart weapon that can distinguish between tracked and wheeled vehicles, and between friendly structures and targets. 

The individual in this role will be an active member of the team of Eight Contracts professionals in a Tucson Hybrid (Rita Road) capacity. This role will be primarily focused on analysis of Request for Proposals (RFP), proposal reviews and coordination, and contract negotiations to include large complex production (USG & FMS).  Responsibilities include working closely with the Program Sr. Director, Senior Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Proposal Manager, Business/Estimating and Supply Chain to construct, submit and negotiate pricing proposals; providing support to senior management regarding contractual and business issues; ensuring that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies; advising management of contractual rights and obligations and possible mitigation of contractual/program risks; examining and understanding cost structure estimates of labor, material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.

This position on the StormBreaker® program offers the candidate a broad opportunity to engage in a myriad of contract activities on a program that has significant activity in every aspect of the program’s life-cycle.  The program currently consists of large scale development, production, integration and sustainment and is continuing to grow. 

What You Will Do

  • Analysis of Request for Proposals (RFP), proposal reviews and coordination, contract negotiation and estimate at completion (EAC) reviews

  • Supporting program management and with execution reviews, I

  • Providing intellectual Property and investment strategy development, and general contract administration.

  • Working closely with the Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Business/Estimating, and Supply Chain to construct, submit and negotiate pricing proposals.

  • Providing guidance to senior management regarding contractual and business issues.

  • Ensuring that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies.

  • Advising management of contractual rights and obligations and possible mitigation of contractual/program risks

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

  • Experience with U.S. Government contracts

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)

  • Experience as a team or program contracts lead

  • Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and risk quantification

  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust

  • Experience working is a fast-paced environment, where prioritization is required to be effective

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
