About the Team

The Twitch community is like no other - a passionate and engaged group of creators and active participants who are uniquely invested in what we’re all building together. The Marketing & Communications team at Twitch serves to authentically activate the Twitch community (and beyond) in ways that inform and inspire. Members of our team work across a range of areas including internal and external communications, content & partnerships, creative services, and marketing strategy.

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly creative communicator who brings energy, curiosity, and a deep understanding of Twitch culture and content creators. This person thinks expansively about where and how to tell stories, so we can reach the audiences who matter most—across services, formats, and emerging channels.

As Senior Manager, Community Product Communications, you’ll help shape and execute Twitch’s product communications strategy. The ideal candidate is a natural storyteller with experience across social or interactive services, someone who can translate complex, technical concepts into simple, compelling narratives. You’re proactive, thoughtful, and collaborative. You’re comfortable building trusted relationships with senior leaders and working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment.

Most importantly, you’re genuinely passionate about the Twitch community and excited to bring our product story to life in fresh, dynamic, and creator-forward ways.

This role may be based in San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA; or New York, NY.

You Will:
  • Work with product leadership and product marketing managers to tell Twitch’s product story, underscoring the ways we build for streamers and viewers
  • Develop communications campaigns for feature and product launches
  • Develop executive positioning strategy for product leadership
  • Identify opportunities to engage streamers and viewers through creative programming, to build an understanding of Twitch's product work
  • Establish a deep understanding of Twitch's community, policies, and products, and tell stories that translate those concepts to broad audiences
  • Engage with media and other external partners to provide an understanding of our work
  • Create the foundational materials needed to deliver compelling, consistent narratives
You Have:
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in product and/or corporate communications, including experience working in-house
  • Established relationships with relevant media
  • Proven success building and implementing product communications strategy
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in dynamic, fast-moving environments
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills
  • Experience counseling C-level executives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Enthusiasm for Twitch and our community
Bonus Points
  • Experience in entertainment, media, or user-generated content businesses.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
