The Role
We are seeking a highly proactive, results-driven, and team-oriented professional to join our team as a Sr. Manager, Capital Markets. This role is critical to help fuel our growth with flexible, low-cost capital and ensure liquidity as we continue to scale operations. Success in this role demands strong technical corporate finance skills, experience with debt and equity capital markets, and a track record of successful asset-based finance execution (acquired at a bank or fintech). We are a mission-driven team, and are seeking a collaborative individual to bring a critical thinking approach, combined with the ownership mindset of a builder: someone who thrives in ambiguity, learns independently, and communicates cross-functionally with clarity and initiative.
What You'll Do
- Support Deal Activities:
- Help secure and maintain efficient and flexible capital (equity, debt, and warehouse) by identifying and attracting prospective investors, crafting an investor story for specific financing opportunities, evaluating structuring alternatives and making recommendations
- Support the due diligence processes, executing and following through to deal closing.
- Partner with legal, operations, and accounting teams to ensure deals are properly onboarded, accounted for, and documented
- External Relations & Facility Management:
- Support ongoing investor relations, investor/lender reporting, and relationships with banks, lenders, investors, and intermediaries
- Support refinancing, upsizing, product, and underwriting enhancements as needed
- Build and monitor dashboards and reports to track new loan origination, loan repayments, performance statistics and adherence to Tala lender contractual requirements
- Support Capital Management & Corporate FP&A:
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Treasury teams to ensure financings are modeled accurately in liquidity, risk, and financial planning forecasts
- Develop short-term and long-term forecasts to assist in capital markets analyses and inform product strategy and credit underwriting processes for Tala’s lending origination
- Build analytical models to evaluate capital structure decisions including financing, return of capital, liquidity planning, equity valuation, and credit ratings for review with senior leadership
- Loan Portfolio Reporting & Technology Integration
- Manage existing debt portfolio including covenant compliance and ensure proper alignment with risk management processes
- Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing next-generation portfolio management software systems.
- Support in building out loan ops capabilities to scale balance sheet lending and facilitate future securitization programs
- Enhance Blockchain/Crypto Strategy
- Explore blockchain and crypto-based solutions to enhance liquidity and tokenize balance sheet assets
- Support Product team in developing relationships with blockchain market participants
- Evaluate strategic use cases for stablecoins, tokenized assets, and digital wallets in collaboration with Legal and Compliance to ensure regulatory alignment
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets, or asset-based finance experience, with hands-on experience executing securitizations
- Proven ability to self-start and figure things out independently in dynamic, unstructured environments.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
- Deep understanding of asset-based finance, debt structuring, fintech lending, payments, decentralized finance, stablecoins, asset tokenization and securitizations
- Proven ability to prepare financial models, internal and external investment memoranda (i.e. Confidential Information Memos and Ratings Agency Memos), manage investor diligence processes, and support in the negotiation of financing term sheets and deal documents
- Past success ramping quickly in a complex or global finance structure
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with investors, managing ongoing investor communications, and ad-hoc information requests
- Ability to contribute to all parts of the financing lifecycle, including the drafting of marketing materials, coordination of lender/investor diligence calls, preparation of term sheets, development of transaction documents in collaboration with legal teams, and transaction closing/funding mechanics
- Exposure to blockchain-based financing sources — including stablecoins, digital wallets, or cross-border crypto payments — and a clear understanding of their practical use cases and regulatory considerations
What Will Set You Apart
Our vision is to build a new financial ecosystem where everyone can participate on equal footing and access the tools they need to be financially healthy. We strongly believe that inclusion fosters innovation and we’re proud to have a diverse global team that represents a multitude of backgrounds, cultures, and experience.
