Job Description

Experian Consumer Services (ECS) is looking for a dynamic and collaborative Senior Manager to lead the development of our next-generation B2B Digital Experience Platform (DXP). This role is important to lead the delivery of a new eCommerce platform to shape the future of our digital business offerings.

You will oversee a cross-functional team of software development and quality engineering professionals, managing them through the delivery of the product roadmap. You will be supported by a technical lead and a team of accomplished engineers.

To be successful you will need the managerial skills to organize your team combined with the managerial skills to motivate and grow your team. Equally important are your collaboration skills, as you will work with both technical and non-technical partners across the organization. If you are hoping to stay hands-on with development, this is not the role for you.

You will report to Director, Web Applications Engineering, Partner Solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and delivery processes and strategies that will support a secure, high availability, enterprise system: CI/CD delivery pipeline, automated testing, real-time monitoring and alerting
  • Lead a global team of developers, architects, and QA engineers, while remaining "in the weeds" with solution design and delivery.
  • Promote best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, governance, security, and technical documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Integrate Salesforce with Experian's broader ecosystem using Mulesoft, APIs, and event-driven architectures to allow near real-time data flow and automation.
  • Stay current with Salesforce roadmap, releases, and latest trends to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Optimize system performance and scalability, identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate across multiple time zones with global teams and stakeholders.
  • And have fun. Ensure that the culture you create for the team is rewarding and enjoyable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in a software development capacity.
  • At least 3 years of people management experience.
  • While not required, a deep background in Salesforce would be an excellent foundation for this role.
  • Experience managing a project from RFP to SOW to production.
  • Experience with back-end or front-end web development and related skills, including SOAP & REST services, object-oriented design, Salesforce Apex & LWC, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with Jira and other Atlassian tools for Agile/Scrum lifecycle management
  • Experience of DevOps and CI/CD, automated test and build tools
  • Experience working with distributed teams across geographies and time zones. Experience with Product Oriented Delivery.
  • Experience with eCommerce portals is beneficial.
  • We are a heavy AWS environment so experience in AWS is beneficial.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
