Lead migrations of mainframe automation from CA OPS/MVS and CA Automation Point to IBM Systems Automation (Tivoli/SAIOM). Configure, install, and troubleshoot IBM Systems Automation for z/OS, develop REXX execs and PDB policies, collaborate with operations to improve startup, shutdown, recovery, and HA automation processes.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Automation Migration Engineer to lead migration and optimization of mainframe automation solutions from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS and from CA Automation Point to IBM Systems Automation for Integrated Operations Management (SAIOM).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead migration projects from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS and from CA Automation Point to IBM SAIOM.
- Configure and implement IBM Systems Automation solutions, including policy-based automation for z/OS
- Develop and maintain automation rules, REXX execs, and System Automation Policy Database (PDB)
- Provide installation, configuration, and troubleshooting support for IBM automation products.
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve startup, shutdown, recovery, and high-availability automation processes.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in mainframe operations and z/OS automation
- Hands-on migration experience from Non-IBM / ISV automation tools—especially CA OPS/MVS and CA Automation Point—to IBM Systems Automation solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS.
- Working knowledge of NetView for z/OS and System Automation Policy Database (PDB).
- Strong TSO/ISPF, JCL, and REXX programming skills.
- Demonstrated experience in installation, configuration, documentation, and automation-related troubleshooting.
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Knowledge of SMP/E for software installation and maintenance.
- Experience with fully automated system configurations on IBM Z.
