Job Description:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Legal & Compliance Operations, this role provides hands-on strategic, operational, and change management leadership across Legal, Compliance, and Government Affairs functions. Focused on driving execution, optimizing processes, and scaling capacity, this role partners closely with the Senior Director and functional leaders to operationalize priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

While supporting day-to-day operations as needed, this role is primarily responsible for driving outcomes across key initiatives, including execution of contract lifecycle management (CLM) priorities, contracting and vendor management strategy, procurement function development, AI and technology enablement, data reporting and dashboard development, and governance workflows. This role connects strategy to execution by identifying gaps, improving processes, and ensuring consistent follow-through and accountability across teams. Given the dynamic nature of the function, this role requires the ability to pivot quickly across initiatives, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and maintain focus on execution and outcomes.

As such, this role requires strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a complex and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has expertise in procurement and vendor management, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and procurement process design. Candidate should be highly organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and evolving business needs while driving cross-functional alignment and results. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to deliver high-quality work product.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive execution of legal, compliance, and government affairs operational priorities by translating strategic objectives into structured project plans, timelines, and measurable outcomes
  • Build and lead a centralized procurement function encompassing strategic sourcing, vendor management, and governance frameworks, with a focus on cross-functional alignment and spend optimization
  • Own end-to-end optimization of cross-functional workflows across key initiatives, establishing standardized, scalable processes
  • Proactively identify risks to timelines and drive mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes
  • Establish and uphold a standard of operational excellence by implementing consistent processes, documentation, and governance across workflows
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and risks across workflows, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Continuously evaluate and refine processes post-implementation to ensure workflows remain efficient, scalable, and effective
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional meetings, driving alignment, tracking progress, and ensuring clear decisions, next steps, and accountability
  • Serve as a central point of coordination for operational issues, driving resolution of day-to-day challenges and escalating complex or high-impact matters as needed
  • Lead development and maintenance of data reporting, dashboards, and metrics to provide visibility into operational performance and support data-driven decision making
  • Drive optimization of the legal and compliance technology stack, including CLM and related systems, to streamline processes and enhance scalability
  • Drive experimentation and implementation of AI and technology initiatives (e.g., automation, chatbots) to improve productivity, knowledge access, and operational effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge management resources to enable consistency, scalability, and high-quality execution
  • Support development of vendor management and strategic sourcing strategy and execution, including coordination and performance tracking.
  • Drive change management efforts to support adoption of new processes, tools, and workflows
  • Lead or support special projects and emerging initiatives, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and evolving business needs

Other Job Functions:

  • Support of broader Legal Operations initiatives as needed

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
