Today, we are reimagining parking to enable millions of consumers to just "drive in and drive out." We envision a future where people transact in the real world with a speed, ease and convenience that is unparalleled, even online. Who you are

Metropolis is seeking a Senior Learning Experience Designer with strong instructional design fundamentals and a passion for AI-enabled content creation to design scalable, engaging, and performance-driven learning experiences. In this role, you will blend traditional learning experience design with modern content production techniques, including AI-assisted development and video-based learning, to build critical skills and support career growth across the organization. You will partner closely with People Partners, subject matter experts, and business leaders to translate complex concepts into high-quality, learner-centered solutions that ensure our workforce can thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

What you'll do
  • Design and develop engaging learning programs, courses, and resources aligned to business priorities and L&D strategy
  • Apply instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create experiences that drive knowledge retention and on-the-job application
  • Partner with subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible, and impactful learning content
  • Take autonomous ownership of learning content challenges, identifying and resolving blockers to ensure timely and effective delivery
  • Build blended learning solutions incorporating eLearning, instructor-led training, virtual sessions, toolkits, and job aids
  • Leverage AI enabled tools and platforms to enhance learning design, content development, personalization, and operational efficiency
  • Design and produce high-quality video learning content using AI-driven and traditional video creation tools
  • Manage the end-to-end video production process, including scripting, storyboarding, editing, and publishing
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and analytics to iterate on programs based on performance data
  • Stay current on learning technologies, AI advancements, and industry best practices to continuously innovate the learner experience
What we're looking for
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or L&D program development
  • Strong grounding in adult learning theory, instructional design models, and blended learning strategies
  • Demonstrated experience creating video-based learning content, including use of AI-enabled video tools
  • Proven ability to script, design, edit, and produce polished learning videos and multimedia content
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360/Rise, Camtasia, Captivate, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and emerging learning technologies
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder partnership skills
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Creative, learner-first mindset with a focus on measurable business and performance outcomes
While not required, these are a plus:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
