Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy - fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $170M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more.
We’re creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers.
But we’re not stopping there. We’re also building the Energy Network: a decentralized platform of smart devices that rewards users in Energy Dollars for electrifying their homes, shifting usage to off-peak hours, and helping balance the grid. This network strengthens grid stability - a critical foundation for scaling AI data centers and other energy-intensive industries.

To accelerate this mission, we are looking for a Senior/Lead Recruiter (Infrastructure) to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in scaling our US footprint from the ground up, focusing on hiring across Grid Interconnection, Data Center Project Development, Land Acquisition, and High-Voltage/Substation Engineering. This is a real opportunity to join an ambitious startup at the forefront of the energy transition and help build the foundational workforce for a new kind of integrated energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Develop tailored sourcing strategies to engage top-tier talent from major data center operators, renewable energy developers, and the power/grid sector.
  • Screen and assess candidates for both specialized technical excellence and cultural alignment.
  • Run high-velocity, high-quality hiring processes: drive pipeline activity, facilitate post-interview debriefs, and ensure a seamless candidate experience.
  • Negotiate offers and close world-class talent in highly competitive US infrastructure and energy markets.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and department heads to deeply understand their technical requirements, hiring needs, and timelines.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a heavy focus on technical or energy infrastructure in high-growth or startup environments.
  • Proven track record filling critical upstream roles, including Grid Interconnection, Data Center/Renewable Project Development, Land Acquisition, or High-Voltage/Substation Engineering.
  • Proven ability to identify and close candidates with niche, highly competitive engineering and infrastructure skill sets in the US market.
  • Ability to partner effectively with hiring managers and candidates, acting as a trusted talent advisor rather than just a process manager.
  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills across all levels of an organization, from technical engineering leads to executives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to compel and pitch experienced infrastructure professionals on a high-growth startup mission.
  • Experience with modern ATS tools, pipeline reporting, and data-driven recruiting practices to keep hiring velocity high.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary
  • Biannual bonus scheme
  • Fully expensed tech to match your needs
  • Paid annual leave
  • Opportunity to work closely with senior business leaders and exposure to building a global energy business

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
