Senior IT Support Engineer (Onsite - 5 days per week onsite in Irvine, CA)

Overview:

The Senior IT Support Engineer will be responsible for leading our IT support team and providing advanced technical assistance, overseeing technical operations, mentoring junior team members, and implementing IT projects.  This role will work both independently and collaboratively to ensure that Weedmaps employees continue to operate at a high level. We are looking for someone with a deep and genuine passion for technology, who also has great communication skills and enjoys working with people.

The impact you’ll make:

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT Support Engineers and Specialists, providing guidance and support in resolving complex technical issues. Experience supporting C suite and other VIP clients.
  • Serve as  the primary point of contact for the Irvine or relevant office working in office 4+ days a week, with duties including but not limited to:
    • On-site support
    • IT lab organization
    • Asset tracking and inventory management
    • Conference room upkeep and development
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to fulfill administrative duties and create SOPs including monitoring health, patching, maintenance and optimization of core platforms including but not limited to:
    • Jamf
    • G Suite
    • Azure/ inTune
    • Automox
    • Slack
    • Jira
  • Partner with the network team and be onsite backup for network infrastructure, troubleshooting, patching etc.
  • Assist specialist team with ticket queue, operational tasks, and serve as escalation point and liaison to Apps and infrastructure teams.
  • Manage IT projects from inception to completion, including planning, implementation, and documentation.
  • Evaluate and recommend IT solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and user satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain IT support policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on IT matters, providing guidance and training to end-users and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address IT needs and requirements.
  • Conduct regular assessments of IT systems and infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Stay informed of emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry, making recommendations for adoption as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, particularly regarding IT security and data privacy in collaboration with infosec and infrastructure teams.
  • Design, maintain and support onboarding efforts for new hires and new hire orientations.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ve accomplished:

  • 7 + years of Proven experience in IT support in a senior or leadership role.
  • Extensive experience working in a MacOS environment
  • Working experience with Jamf, G Suite, and/or Okta
  • Working Network / System Administration experience
  • Experience in IT project management, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent years or related experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.

The base pay range for this position is $105,000.00 to $118,000.00 per year
