Who We Are

Second Dinner is an award-winning independent game development studio. Just how many awards, you ask? A whopping 22 in total so far… Including Mobile Game of the Year from both The Game Awards and DICE, Best Strategy Game from IGN, and the prestigious Apple Design Award for Innovation. Yes, that's a lot of awards! But these accolades don't magically materialize; they're a testament to the amazing folks who make up our studio. You could be the next addition to our award-winning team! Continue reading to find out more.
For our debut game, MARVEL SNAP, we've partnered with Marvel (Trust us, we had to pinch ourselves too!). We've got other SUPER FUN (but still secret) projects in the works and this role is a chance to be a part of something new, and special at the company. As a remote-first company, we value diversity and encourage applications from everyone who can bring something unique to the table.

Our IT Team

Our IT strategic pillars are to promote self-enablement, automation, and risk management.

Self-Enablement: We ensure employees across the country have the tools and support they need to succeed. From managing hardware like laptops and peripherals to providing access to essential software and collaboration tools, we enable seamless productivity for both in-office and remote teams. By empowering teams with impactful tools and fast, effective support, our IT team helps drive creativity, innovation, and collaboration across the organization.
Automation: We constantly look to improve our processes, leveraging AI, tools, and processes to enable more time spent on creative and strategic pursuits.

Risk Management: We work closely with central technology and security teams to maintain robust infrastructure, enforce data protection, and deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of our company.

Your Role

We're looking for a strategic yet hands-on Senior IT Manager to lead our IT function. You’ll drive automation, outsource and streamline wherever possible, and ensure our infrastructure and support systems scale alongside our studio. You’ll be a player-coach: leading vision and strategy while rolling up your sleeves to solve problems directly.
This role is primarily remote but requires that you live within commuting distance of our Irvine, CA headquarters. You’ll be expected to be onsite weekly and available for in-person events, summits, and team meetings. You’ll also be personally responsible for all in-office IT needs — from supporting our onsite employees to maintaining and regularly testing the network and office infrastructure.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and evolve our IT strategy to support a growing remote-first game studio

  • Build and manage vendor relationships for helpdesk, device logistics, and fulfillment services

  • Oversee IT helpdesk, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution

    • Support complex IT helpdesk issues and be willing to roll up your sleeves to support junior IT team members with other IT helpdesk issues

  • Design and implement automation for device provisioning, onboarding, and software management

  • Evaluate and optimize our IT stack, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for simplification

  • Manage enterprise authentication, identity, and access tools (Okta, Google Workspace, etc.)

  • Oversee hardware/software inventory, procurement, and endpoint management (InTune, Kandji, JAMF)

  • Create and document scalable, efficient processes for support, provisioning, and access

  • Be the go-to owner of all in-office IT needs: support onsite employees, maintain a healthy office network, and ensure hardware and AV systems are reliable and effective

  • Partner with Security & Compliance to align on privacy, audit, and InfoSec best practices

  • Mentor junior IT team members and oversee their day-to-day operations

What You'll Need:
  • Significant experience managing IT at a software technology company or game studio, including hybrid/remote support

  • Strong track record of implementing automation and outsourcing solutions

  • Experience managing MDM, IAM, and enterprise IT infrastructure (MacOS + Windows)

  • Hands-on expertise with cloud-first collaboration and development tools (Slack, Unity, Atlassian, GitHub, etc.)

  • An eye for simplicity and continuous improvement

  • Ability to work autonomously while setting direction for others

  • Strategic thinking with the willingness to jump in and solve tactical problems

  • Strong process management and execution skills

  • Curiosity and a passion for learning and development

  • Ability to carry and lift up to 25 lbs for shipping and receiving equipment

  • Outstanding communication skills and a service-oriented mindset

Nice to Have, But Not Necessary:
  • Experience leading IT at a startup or fast-growing company

  • Familiarity with modern compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001)

  • Scripting or configuration-as-code experience (e.g., Terraform, Python, Bash)

  • Basic understanding of AV, network, or web infrastructure

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
