ABOUT THE JOB

As a Senior iOS Engineer at Guidebook, you'll be an integral part of a tight-knit mobile team, collaborating cross-functionally with teams, including Product, Design, QA, Frontend, Backend, and Android. This role is perfect for an engineer eager to utilize their technical expertise to impact the team's success by taking ownership of projects and being a crucial technical partner to their manager. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect and implement complex iOS features, making key technical decisions and establishing development best practices.

  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and drive adoption of modern Swift patterns and iOS frameworks.

  • Take end-to-end ownership of major features from technical design through App Store release.

  • Partner with Product and Design teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, implement security best practices, and optimize app performance.

  • Evaluate and integrate new iOS technologies, frameworks, and development tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of professional iOS development experience with shipped App Store applications.

  • Proficient in Swift and Objective-C.

  • Strong understanding of core iOS frameworks: UIKit, Foundation, Auto Layout, Core Animation, URLSession, and local persistence.

  • Experience with Git version control (or similar).

  • Performance optimization and debugging experience with iOS applications.

  • Proven experience working in cross-functional teams.

  • Effective communication skills with team members and stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous experience mentoring developers or leading technical initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with modern iOS architectural patterns (MVVM, VIPER, or similar).

  • SwiftUI and Combine framework experience.

  • App Store deployment expertise including code signing, certificate management, and release processes.

  • Testing experience: unit testing, UI testing, and testing best practices.

  • Familiarity with mobile analytics, crash reporting tools (Firebase, Crashlytics).

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Fastlane).

COMPENSATION:

A competitive salary of $125,000-155,000, depending on relevant experience.
