  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to Mural’s executive team, crafting clear, authentic messaging including Slack communications, all-hands content, executive presentations, blogs, bylined articles (PR), and leadership updates.

  • Partner closely with executives to ensure consistent tone, clarity, and alignment across leadership communications.

  • Design creative, engaging communication concepts and campaigns that strengthen employee connection, participation, and understanding of strategy across teams and regions.

  • Champion two-way communication by incorporating feedback mechanisms, listening strategies, and employee voice into internal programs.

  • Oversee the creation of high-impact content, including company announcements, external thought leadership articles, PR bylines, executive narratives, FAQs, and strategic updates.

  • Translate complex business, product, and industry topics into accessible, engaging communications for internal audiences.

  • Lead thoughtful, proactive communications planning for key moments such as organizational updates, product launches, and company milestones.

  • Partner with HR, People, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure employees are informed, prepared, and aligned.

  • Evaluate and implement AI-enabled tools to enhance internal communications workflows, content development, personalization, and efficiency.

  • Establish metrics to measure internal communications effectiveness, engagement, and sentiment.

  • Use data and insights to continuously improve messaging, channels, and approaches.

  • Manage complex, cross-functional communications initiatives from planning through execution using project management tools.

  • Collaborate closely with People Operations, Marketing, Product, and Leadership teams to ensure alignment and impact.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in internal communications, executive communications, and/or corporate communications, ideally within fast-paced B2B SaaS or startup environments

  • Extensive experience supporting executive leadership, particularly with message development and employee-facing communications

  • Demonstrated creativity and originality in developing communication concepts and campaigns that drive employee engagement across channels

  • Strong portfolio of internal and executive communications materials

  • Experience supporting fast-paced, growth-stage companies, including navigating change and ambiguity

  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools for content creation and workflow optimization

  • Expertise in project management tools (Asana, Wrike, Monday.com, etc.)

  • Strong analytical mindset, with experience measuring internal communications effectiveness

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence partnering with senior leaders and executives

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
