Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Interactive Simulation Developer to lead the development of an immersive simulation environment for mission planning, training, UI/UX testing, and more. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing high-quality products and simulations, particularly in Unreal Engine. As a senior team member, you will oversee the technical development, guide the project, and shape the simulation roadmap.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the technical development of our in-house simulation platform using Unreal Engine.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance simulation capabilities.
  • Work with design and UI/UX teams to develop next-generation user interfaces
  • Create simulation scenarios for training users in the operation of our systems.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. 
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming). 
  • 5+ years of game development experience, with at least 3 years using Unreal Engine (UE4 or later). 
  • Proven track record of contributing to one or more shipped AA/AAA games or equivalent. 
  • Strong understanding of server-client architecture and network optimization for multiplayer games. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a development team, including mentoring junior developers.  
  • Proficiency in C++ and Blueprint scripting, with familiarity with Python. 
  • Familiarity with game development processes, including working with design, development, production, and QA  
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and a passion for overcoming technical challenges


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience with cross-disciplinary engineering projects 
  • Military service or defense industry experience  
  • A background in mathematical simulation or training software development


Additional Requirements: 

  • This is an onsite position based at our Torrance Headquarters.

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. 

For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:

$135,700$172,300 USD
