Role Description

The Developer Infrastructure organization at Dropbox builds and maintains the foundational systems that enable our engineers to deliver innovative features and services to millions of users worldwide.  Repo Rangers is a new team in this organization with a dedicated mission of accelerating the pace of software development and strengthening security and compliance in Dropbox’s rServer monorepo .

Repo Rangers team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will lead foundational investments in libraries, packages, and tools for two largest languages at Dropbox (viz. Py and Go). You will develop deep expertise, bring cutting edge tools, establish best practices, and provide hands on guidance and support to platform and product teams across the company. You will be at the heart of developing and advancing the critical tools and infrastructure that accelerate engineering excellence in Dropbox’s monorepo. This is a high-impact role with strong visibility, ideal for someone who enjoys building and fixing programming language libraries and tools, build systems, and helping engineers do their best work.

Responsibilities
  • Advance the Py and Go ecosystem in Dropbox’s monorepo. 
  • Drive and deliver a broad variety of projects involving Py and Go SDK, libraries, and runtime
  • Build tooling for integrating and updating third party language libraries into monorepo,
  • Periodically upgrade foundational first party and third party libraries.
  • Enhance tooling for debugging and IDE integration, develop and support linters and static analysis tools. integrating Go and Py tooling with dependency management software
  • Improve documentation and best practices to support Go and Py developer journey
  • Promote adoption of state of art profiling and performance optimization techniques.
 

Collaborate closely with engineers Build Toolchains, Services Platform, and other infrastructure teams. Provide business hours support for all things related to languages, toolchains, and building and upgrading libraries. 

Requirements
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience
  • Proficient in programming and debugging across a range of languages such as Python, Go, C/C++, or Java or Rust
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to gather feedback, influence and work directly with engineers to iterate on solutions
  • Proven track record of defining & delivering multi quarter projects with well scoped milestones
  • Ability to independently define right solutions for ambiguous and open-ended problems
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of software development experience in Py or Go or Java or C++ or Rust
  • 2+ years of experience developing and patching libraries and packages code in Py, Go, C++ or Rust
  • Experience with building large scale software using Bazel is a plus
  • Experience with profiling and performance optimization and operating systems internals is a strong plus
Compensation

Dropbox applies increased tax deductible costs to remuneration earned by certain qualifying employees (to the extent an employee will be involved in the creation of the software as an “author”) for the transfer of copyrights, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Income Tax Act.

314 500 zł425 500 zł PLN
