Overview

The Senior HR Manager is responsible for providing mid-level to high-level day-to-day HR support to all US employees, acting as a primary point of contact for all people-related queries, problems, issues, and processes.  

Responsibilities

Employee Engagement: 

  • Responsible for providing mid-level to high-level HR support to team members across the US 
  • Conduct HR portion of new hire orientations  
  • Lead the onboarding process for new employees ensuring the content is updated and ready for each new hire session, build relationships with employees to foster a sense of belonging 
  • Conduct immersion dialogue reviews for new employees MAS level to SVP 
  • Guide all level managers on employee relations, performance management, staffing, internal transfers and visas, compensation and employee development 
  • Support team with onboarding new hires and helping lead and build relationships with employees  
  • Work with guidance from People Leads to implement talent management program, including mentoring, on-boarding, succession planning, salary recommendations, organizational reviews, and rewards and recognition programs 
  • Assist with employee relations situations in partnership with the VP, People, and Senior Manager, People  
  • Provide coaching and counseling to employees in areas such as conflict resolution, time management and career development 
  • Conduct exit interviews with departing employees for MAS to VP  
  • Support new to seasoned managers with employee relations issues, including: 
    • Driving PIP (Performance Improvement Process/PDP (Performance Development) process and supporting manager in collecting and properly documenting process 
    • Keep People Leader in the loop as it relates to the progress of PIP/PDP  
    • Gather all necessary documentation for the HR Leader who will work with Legal as needed  
    • Connect and build relationships with other HR professionals across the broader agency network to ensure alignment and use of best practices 
    • Assist SVP and VP HR leaders with analyzing results from employee surveys, and lead feedback meetings with employees to ensure that their voices are being heard  
    • Support People Leads by partnering with the OPRG L&D team to suggest training needed based on employee feedback and survey results 
    • Mentor and partner with People Coordinators, Generalists, and Managers on the HR team

Talent Attraction: 

  • Develop relationships, in conjunction with Talent Team, with career centers and professors at universities across the U.S. to boost Ketchum brand name recognition 
  • Help with college outreach; assist in managing on-site college visit coordination and career fairs 
  • Represent the agency at networking and career fairs and other recruiting events such as coordinating and presenting onsite college visits 
  • Lead Talent/People Team with the annual Summer Fellows Program: 
    • Reviewing resumes 
    • HR screening 
    • Identify interview teams and schedule interviews for account teams 
    • Oversee coordinators and generalists with scheduling training 
    • Conduct check-ins with Fellows and their Managers to support them as needed with Fellows’ performance 

Ad ’hoc projects and Support: 

  • Work with the guidance of your HR leaders to update job descriptions support with the creation of  new job titles updates of job mapping titles and job codes to ensure they are appropriately mapped to the correct job family for OPRG reporting 
  • Oversee junior team on processing any salary changes and meet required  Payroll deadlines. salary changes 
  • Send leaders quarterly vacation reports to ensure employees are distributing their time off throughout the year vs. Needing to take all at the end of the year.
  • Support People Leads in preparing for any larger agency actions 

Qualifications  

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred  
  • 7–10 years of human resources generalist experience 
  • Strong presentation, communication, and writing skills 
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities at one time and adapting to change 
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality 
  • SHRM or PHR certification a plus 
  • Agency, billable environment or service industry experience a plus 



The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available. #LI-Hybrid
