Role Overview

An established consumer products company is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to support its employees and leaders. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this person will lead a team of two and oversee key people processes, with a particular focus on HRIS, leave administration, and benefits.

The role calls for someone who can advise leaders, improve how HR work gets done, and stay close to the details. The position is onsite five days per week in California’s Central Coast region.

Key Responsibilities

HR Leadership and Business Partnership

  • Lead and develop two team members supporting leave administration, benefits, and employee experience
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen culture, performance, and employee engagement
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and an advocate for employees
  • Work with the broader HR team and other departments to deliver consistent service and administer HR programs
  • Identify trends in workforce data and recommend practical improvements

HRIS and Workforce Data

  • Oversee the administration, accuracy, security, and improvement of the HRIS
  • Establish clear processes and controls for employee, organizational, compensation, and benefits data
  • Partner with Payroll, Finance, and IT to resolve system issues and support enhancements or implementations
  • Deliver reliable reporting and analysis to support workforce planning, compensation, and organizational decisions

Benefits, Leaves, and Process Improvement

  • Manage leave administration, identify process gaps, and ensure consistent application of leave and benefits policies
  • Oversee benefits billing reconciliation and maintain accurate benefits census data
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll to resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure HR programs and policies are applied consistently across the organization
  • Stay current on employment legislation and recommend policy or process updates
  • Improve workflows while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience managing HR professionals
  • Strong working knowledge of HR systems, processes, and data management
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential employee information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • Experience with compensation programs
  • Experience with employee engagement platforms

Compensation

$120,000–$140,000 base salary. Benefits include health insurance, long-term disability coverage, 401(k) options, paid sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays, subject to eligibility.
