The Senior HR Business Partner will align business strategy with people plans, support talent management, ensure compliance, and mentor junior HR staff while maintaining a focus on employee experience.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior HR Business partner to join our People & Talent team supporting teams in our US employee population. As a senior individual contributor, you’ll turn business strategy into a clear people plan and help leaders build healthy, high-performing teams. You’ll be the go-to HR partner for your business teams and help bring to life programs designed by our Compensation, Benefits and Talent Acquisition teams and by working with People Operations to land them smoothly. You’ll protect fairness and compliance in a healthcare/clinical research setting (HIPAA, GCP/GxP) while keeping the employee experience at the center. What You'll Be Working On (Duties Include but Not Limited to):
- Strategic partner to BU leadership: Translate business goals into people plans (workforce & skills), advise on org design (role clarity, skills), and drive change so it lands for your teams; lead cross-functional, continuous-improvement efforts that remove friction and improve adoption.
- Talent, succession & manager effectiveness: Lead talent reviews and succession for critical roles; support internal mobility; own engagement action-planning with leaders; lead performance management and coach managers through complex ER cases.
- People analytics & risk: Leverage AI and HRIS data to enable decisions; ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and advise on policy updates as laws evolve; triage complex ER matters and partner with ER/Legal on formal investigations; maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Rewards & workforce decisions: Partner with Compensation on job architecture, annual pay cycles, pay-equity reviews, and offers/exceptions; collaborate with Benefits/HR Ops on leaves, accommodations, and return-to-work plans within governance and business needs.
- Systems, change communications & mentorship: Represent BU needs in HRIS/IT changes (requirements, UAT, rollout); plan people-change communications with Internal Communications; mentor junior HR team members through coaching, work reviews, and skills development (non-supervisory).
What You Bring (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Demonstrated influence with senior managers in a matrixed, fast-changing environment.
- Working knowledge of U.S. employment law and ER fundamentals; experience partnering with COEs and HR Ops/HRIS.
- Proficiency with HRIS and people analytics; ability to turn data into decisions; AI literacy for HR workflows.
- Strong consulting skills (problem framing, options/implications, crisp recommendations), facilitation, and communication.
- Previous experience mentoring or directly managing other HR professionals in ER matters.
Certifications, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelors in HR, Business, Org Psych, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- SHRM, HRCI or other relevant HR certifications preferred.
- 7-10+ years HR experience with 3+ years as an HRBP or client-facing HR advisor.
Physical/Travel Requirements
- This is a remote position with less than 10% travel requirements. Occasional planned travel may be required as part of the role.
