WHO WE ARE

Edmentum is a dynamic educator and student-focused company dedicated to tech-enabled learning solutions. Our goal is to ensure that all students have access to flexible learning environments and educators have the tools they need to support their students. We are on a mission to create innovative, proven learning technology, partnering with educators to ignite student potential. We are a Remote First organization with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

You'll be the person who makes our HR systems actually work. Not just technically, but in ways that matter to the people who depend on them every day. As our Senior HRIS & HR Ops Analyst, you'll be the go-to expert for ADP Workforce Now / Lyric: configuration, workflows, security, reporting, and the "why is it doing that?" moments that come with any enterprise system.

This is hands-on, high-judgment work. You'll be in the thick of employee lifecycle transactions. Every hire, promotion, transfer, and departure flows through your work. When an HR Business Partner needs clean data for a tough conversation, when Payroll needs numbers to reconcile, when Finance asks "where did this headcount come from?" you're the one who makes those answers possible.

Day to Day, you’ll:

  • Administer ADP Workforce Now / Lyric as the primary system administrator: configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination when things get complicated
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions with precision, partnering across HR, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition
  • Keep our data clean through regular audits and cross-functional reconciliation with Payroll and Finance
  • Triage and resolve HR Ops service tickets within our service expectations (we'll be honest: volume is real)
  • Spot recurring issues and fix them through better configuration, smarter automation, and clearer documentation
  • Support annual HR cycles and system enhancements as a key contributor

Who You Are

  • You've done this before. You have 3-5 years administering an HRIS platform, ideally ADP Workforce Now or Lyric, but we'll talk if you've got deep experience elsewhere and can translate.
  • You know employee lifecycle transactions cold: hires, job changes, terminations, and all the edge cases that don't fit neatly into any workflow.
  • You're the person who builds the report everyone actually uses, not the one that technically answers the question but nobody can read. You've worked in an HR Operations or Shared Services model and understand what it means to manage a ticket queue without letting quality slip.

What Sets You Apart

  • You troubleshoot like a detective: root cause first, then fix, then prevent
  • You explain system logic to people who don't speak system logic
  • You see a recurring manual process and immediately think "there has to be a better way"
  • You hold data integrity as a personal value, not just a job requirement
  • You can juggle competing priorities without dropping the balls that matter most

The Practical Stuff

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience that taught you the same things. You're comfortable working remotely and independently, and you're ready to adapt as our needs evolve.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
