Moon is hiring an experienced, passionate, and talented Senior HR Generalist for our Palo Alto Studio. In this role, you will partner with the Palo Alto/Tokyo HR team members to drive smooth, high-impact HR operations. As the primary process owner of HRIS and core HR operations, you will implement global initiatives and deliver practical solutions while maintaining compliance with Moon policies and US regulations. Exceptional organizational skill and the ability to communicate with impact across all levels are essential for success.

What you'll do at Moon
  • HRIS & Data Management: Own the HRIS by managing global modules, driving user adoption, and maintaining accurate employee data.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Drive the new hire induction, ensure timely and accurate execution prior to effective dates, and continuously optimize the process.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee inquiries and guidance, supporting positive workplace dynamics and resolving day-to-day workplace matters as needed.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Partner with our Parent company team to oversee benefits enrollment, manage leave requests (such as FMLA), and handle payroll data updates.
  • Performance Management: Help coordinate review cycles and support managers through the process, empowering them to take ownership within their teams.
  • Training & Development: Work with the Tokyo Sr. HRBP and cross-functionally with team leads on training sessions; help identify development opportunities aligned with business goals
  • Compliance: Ensure all HR practices align with US federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Prepare and analyze HR reports (headcount, turnover, compensation, diversity) to inform strategy for the Palo Alto Studio
  • Recruiting Operations: Support regional recruiting activities, including background check coordination.
  • Autonomous Execution: Work autonomously as a proactive self-starter, adapting quickly to ad hoc HR priorities, projects, and studio events.
  • Corporate Function Alignment: Collaborate with Finance and IT/Workplace teams to ensure smooth operational alignment and compliance.
  • Cross-Level Communication & Influence: Build trust and articulate ideas clearly across all organizational levels; comfortably challenge perspectives while fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment.
The Must-Haves
  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Operations Specialist, with solid knowledge of US compliance, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Hands-on HRIS expertise with a sharp eye for detail and data integrity.
  • A global mindset and comfort working collaboratively across different time zones and cultures.
  • High integrity, exceptional discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive matters.
  • Adaptability, self-motivation, and ease with prioritizing in a fast-moving studio environment.
The Nice-to-Haves 
  • High proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, and emerging AI productivity tools.
  • Experience driving HR transformation, value-driven culture, or flexible work strategies.
  • Strong track record of building rapport and influencing across all team levels.

Salary range: $115,000 - $135,000
