About The Opportunity
Designs, plans, and implements regional human resources programs and policies, including staffing, compensation, benefits, Form I-9 compliance, employee relations, training, and health and safety programs. Ensures compliance with EEO, ADA, and OSHA guidelines.Essential Job Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
Establishes human talent strategies, programs and policies to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost and profitability
Partners with business leaders to assure successful deployment of talent acquisition/management, employee engagement, leadership development, communications, compensation, and benefits initiatives
Provides guidance to leaders and direct reports that fosters a high performance workforce and assures compliance with local, state and federal law
Provides leadership in labor relations including grievances, arbitration cases and other potential legal matters to assure compliance with collective bargaining agreements; actively supports labor negotiations process
Assures effective delivery of HR service to assigned work groups
Establishes and analyzes key HR metrics and provides leadership support to ensure regional business objectives are met
Ensures cross-functional collaboration across regional and national sites
Ensures accuracy and completion of employee related data and documentation
Manages staffing, training, employee relations and team performance to develop and enhance the Human Resources function, working closely with direct reports
Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Professional HR certifications preferred (e.g. SHRM and HRCI certifications)
Advanced degrees are a plus
Minimum of 8 years of relevant Human Resources experience in the State of California required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the Human Resources (HR) function or department; ability to use and administer the organization's HR policies, strategies and environment
Knowledge of and ability to use the organization's and industry's standards, procedures and policies relevant to human resources management
Knowledge of national, state, and local laws and ability to advise on laws and regulations affecting HR practices
Knowledge of HR approaches, tools and techniques; ability to inform, guide and advise managers in HR-related initiatives
Knowledge of and ability to plan and develop an organization's HR operations in order to increase individual and organizational effectiveness
Knowledge of and ability to implement HR related tasks, processes, and projects to ensure smooth daily HR operations
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Primarily works in an office environment with occasional time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting
Frequent travel required
This position will qualify for a sales incentive plan in addition to an expected base salary range between $115,000 - $143,000 annually. This role is also eligible for a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic term life, AD&D, Short- and Long-Term Disability; EAP; 401(k) retirement savings plan; PTO and paid holidays.
