Many of us at Astronomer haven't followed traditional career paths, and we welcome it if yours hasn't either.

About this role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Recruiter with a focus on both Go-To-Market (GTM) and technical roles. This includes hiring for functions like sales, marketing, customer success, as well as engineering, product, data, and hybrid roles such as solutions engineering, product marketing, and technical account management. In this role, you will lead the full recruitment cycle in a fast-paced environment, develop and implement effective sourcing strategies, build and refine internal recruitment processes, and partner strategically with hiring managers to attract top-tier talent that aligns with Astronomer’s mission and values.

What you get to do:
  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for both GTM and technical roles, from sourcing through offer negotiation and onboarding.

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with hiring managers and senior-level leaders across technical and commercial teams to understand hiring needs, define role requirements and profiles, and develop effective recruitment strategies to successfully bring in best-in-class talent.

  • Sourcing Strategies & Market Insights: Develop and execute innovative sourcing techniques to identify and engage both active and passive candidates. Gather and leverage market intelligence to inform recruitment strategies, including understanding industry trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitive landscape—across both GTM and technical markets.

  • Process Creation & Improvement: Design, implement, and continuously refine internal recruitment processes to enhance efficiency, candidate experience, and overall effectiveness.

  • Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive and engaging experience for all candidates by maintaining clear communication, providing timely feedback, and upholding Astronomer’s employer brand throughout the recruitment process.

  • Diversity & Inclusion: Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within the recruitment process to build a diverse and high-performing team.

  • Cross-Functional Flexibility: Recruit for a variety of teams including Engineering, Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and technical-commercial hybrid roles like Solutions Engineering and Product Marketing.

What you bring to the role:
  • 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong emphasis on both GTM and technical hiring in high-growth companies.

  • Deep understanding of GTM functions and technical domains, with the ability to assess candidate fit across a variety of specialized roles.

  • Experience recruiting for hybrid roles that require both technical and customer-facing expertise (e.g., sales engineers, technical CSMs, developer advocates).

  • Proven experience in building and optimizing recruitment processes and workflows.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to recruitment strategies and decisions.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proven track record of conducting executive-level searches, including sourcing, assessing, and closing talent.

Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience at a SaaS or cloud-based company.

  • Background hiring for technical products or open-source ecosystems.

The estimated salary for this role ranges from $160,000 - $190,000 based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package. This range is merely an estimate; actual compensation may deviate from this range based on skills, experience, and qualifications.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
