About Splash

Splash Sports is the leading sports gaming platform for peer-to-peer contests. We’re a venture-backed startup (investors include Elysian Park Ventures, Acies Investments, and NFL, NHL, MLB, Premier League owners) focusing on the long tail of sports contests. Our mission is simple but ambitious: bring people closer together through the gamification of live sports. We do it by empowering commissioners, creators, and brands to spin up contests in minutes, automate prize pools, and earn a cut of the action—no sportsbook required.

What Makes Us Special

Under the hood, we’re a lean, product-obsessed team that ships fast, sweats compliance, and celebrates wins. On the front lines, our sales crew onboards our VIP commissioners, converts creators into revenue partners, and turns casual fans into lifelong players.

The Role

We're looking for a versatile marketing leader—a true "marketing athlete"—to create and drive go-to-market strategies for fantasy sports products. You should have a track record of driving user acquisition and engagement across the entire customer journey. You'll have launched new products, built and managed an experiment backlog, and know how to incorporate AI into your workflows to drive growth and create leverage. Whether your background is in sports, gaming, or consumer tech, if you thrive on innovative and data-driven marketing strategies and excel in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.

This is a remote role for candidates residing in the U.S.

What You'll Do

  • Lead go-to-market strategies for new fantasy sports products across the full customer journey, including: awareness, acquisition, retention, and product adoption.
  • Maintain ownership of comprehensive marketing plans, from strategic planning and content creation to cross-functional execution, ensuring effectiveness and consistency throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Leverage AI tools for audience segmentation, CRM marketing, campaign optimization, and analytics-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and operations teams, ensuring cohesive messaging, unified execution, and strategic alignment across all channels.
  • Lead the development, testing, and continuous refinement of compelling product messaging across various communication channels, leveraging A/B tests, customer surveys, and analytics.
  • Conceptualize, plan, and oversee lifecycle marketing initiatives, email campaigns, newsletters, push notifications, and in-app messaging to enhance user engagement.
  • Analyze data to extract actionable insights, informing strategic product positioning, messaging, creative briefs, and overall marketing strategy.
  • Develop and execute innovative growth experiments, focused on viral campaigns, improving our growth loops, and conversion rate optimization initiatives to accelerate user acquisition and retention.

Who You Are

  • Proven experience leading growth marketing strategies, ideally in sports, gaming, or consumer tech.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize marketing projects across multiple business verticals.
  • Bonus points if you have experience in brand marketing or building strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success bringing products to market and scaling user growth.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-driven marketing or product growth tools (e.g., predictive analytics, personalization, or automation platforms).
  • Deep understanding of CRM (push, email, transactional), brand, and digital marketing best practices. Experience with Braze is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and are comfortable with a non-traditional schedule that flexes with the demands of the sports calendar, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation & Benefits

As a Splash team member, you’ll receive a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes:

  • A competitive annual salary range of $130,000-$170,000. This range may be modified, and final compensation may vary based on work experience and skill level
  • Potential to earn equity in the company
  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance
  • 401K/Retirement Plan Options
  • Flexible PTO
  • Annual company retreats & team offsites
  • A work from home stipend
  • Frequent company-wide games with cash prizes
  • An exciting opportunity to be a part of the fast-growing fantasy sports industry, where you’ll help build products for millions of fans across the country!

Splash is committed to creating an inclusive work environment. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants regardless of gender, gender identity, race, religion, color, nationality, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, age or disability.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
