Meet The Growth & Marketing Team

Ownwell’s growth and marketing team is a fast-moving, high-impact group driving customer acquisition and revenue growth across paid media, organic content, partnerships, and brand. We work cross-functionally with product, data, and operations to experiment, learn, and scale what works—always anchored in performance, storytelling, and customer outcomes. If you thrive in a team that values initiative, creativity, and results, you’ll feel right at home.

The Role:

As a Senior Growth Marketing Manager, you’ll lead and scale one of Ownwell’s highest-impact acquisition channels - Direct Mail - while also supporting the growth of additional offline channels like TV, radio, and print. You’ll be the go-to expert, combining creativity, analytics, detail, and AI-powered workflows to unlock faster, smarter, more effective growth & marketing.

This role is a high-impact individual contributor position with executive visibility. You’ll report directly to the VP of Growth & Marketing, collaborate closely with Data, Design and Marketing, and contribute directly to our mission of reducing property ownership expenses across the country.

We’re looking for someone with a strong bias toward action, a creative and analytical mindset, and someone who aligns with Ownwell’s cultural values.

Responsibilities:
  • Own and scale Direct Mail: Run the strategy, execution, testing, and optimization for one of Ownwell’s largest channels
  • Grow and expand into new offline channels, including radio, print, and TV and integrating them with our broader growth strategy.
  • Integrate AI into marketing workflows to enhance targeting, creative iteration, and reporting, boosting speed and impact.
  • Analyze performance and surface insights: Use quantitative and qualitative data to understand what’s working and what’s not. Translate these into hypotheses and improvements.
  • Design and run experiments: Own a testing roadmap for copy, creative, targeting, and offer. Help us learn faster.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Work closely with Data (for targeting and analysis), Design (for creatives and ideation), and the rest of Growth & Marketing (for learning and impact)
  • Ensure high-quality execution: Oversee external vendors, timelines, QA processes, and internal collaboration from kickoff to mail drop to attribution.
  • Lead quarterly planning and goal setting for your channels, and regularly present to leadership.
  • Maintain tight feedback loops through documentation, retros, and cross-functional learnings.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years in performance marketing, with deep experience owning and growing direct mail or other offline channels at scale.
  • A strong track record of driving measurable growth and improving channel efficiency through experimentation.
  • A strategic mindset with hands-on capability—you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves while also shaping the roadmap.
  • Excellent analytical skills: You can work with data sets, vendors, and internal dashboards to drive performance and make decisions.
  • Creative intuition: You have opinions on messaging and creative, and know how to turn insights into winning concepts.
  • Familiarity with AI tools or willingness to learn how to apply them to improve copy iteration, audience selection, reporting, and decisions.
  • A collaborative mindset: You’re proactive in communication, receptive to feedback, and contribute to an open and candid team environment.
  • Experience managing vendors and external partners with a focus on accountability, outcomes, and quality.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, startup environment and comfort with ambiguity and iteration.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
