It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world's relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.
Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We've been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.
The Role
The Growth Marketing Strategy & Analytics team sits at the center of the Cash App and Afterpay growth engines, shaping the strategy behind how marketing drives customer growth. We're a lean, consulting-style team embedded directly with our marketing partners. We stay flexible to work on the highest priority growth problems for the business, while also supporting the execution and optimization of our evergreen marketing program.
As a Senior Growth Marketing Analyst, you'll be an analytical thought partner for our channel managers, working with them to build the infrastructure that makes performance marketing increasingly automated (building datasets, measurement approaches, agentic workflows, etc.) and pairing that work with high-leverage strategic contributions (identifying growth opportunities, influencing roadmaps, guiding investments, etc.). This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is equally energized by getting in the weeds as they are by zooming out on overall growth strategy.
You Will
  • Own analytics and reporting across a set of key growth marketing channels (e.g. paid media, CRM, referrals, etc.)
  • Proactively identify performance trends and growth opportunities by analyzing audience, channel, campaign, and funnel data.
  • Guide the forward-looking growth strategy and marketing roadmap in collaboration with our channel managers.
  • Design and build agentic workflows that unlock self-serve insights for channel managers and automate routine reporting.
  • Write the playbook for how we onboard and measure new experimental growth channels.
  • Leverage and facilitate enhancements to our channel incrementality measurement methodologies (e.g. MMM, global holdout).

You Have
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • A strong understanding of growth levers for consumer products and how marketing drives acquisition, engagement, and long-term value.
  • Experience measuring app and/or web marketing performance, with fluency in core growth metrics such as CAC, LTV, conversion, and retention.
  • The ability to tell a clear story with data by connecting insights to concrete actions and recommendations.
  • An ownership mindset: you surface opportunities, define a path forward, and see initiatives through.
  • Comfortable writing SQL (without AI or an engineer doing it for you).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Mode, or Looker.
  • Excitement to learn!

Technologies We Use and Teach
  • Snowflake
  • Data visualization (e.g. Tableau, Mode, Looker)
  • MMPs (e.g. Appsflyer)
  • AI and automation tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Goose)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
