Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS), Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) is looking for a Senior Ground Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join our team in El Segundo, California, to work on the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communication (ESS) Program.
The selected candidate will support the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communications (ESS) program, a key component of the nation's nuclear command, control and communications (NC3) architecture. The ESS program is designed to provide protected connectivity, crucial for maintaining strategic communication capabilities.
Position Responsibilities:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:
- Develops In Band Command and Control (IBC2) software requirements
- Defines and develops test requirements, test plans, procedures, and schedules
- Integrates In Band Command and Control software into ESS system
- Leads execution, analysis, and preparation of test results to support verification and validation
- Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
- Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
- Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
- Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
- Interface with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external customers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 10+ years of experience with Systems Engineering processes and principles such as system architecture, interface definition, and requirements definition, decomposition, verification, and validation
- Experience with Command and Control (C2) software systems for Ground Systems
- Experience developing requirements for satellite operations
- Experience performing software and systems integration
- Experience performing requirements management using DOORS
- Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience in Ground Systems Engineering
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering project or team
- Experience working with Government customers
