The Senior Animator (Cinematic) will be responsible for creating high-quality motions for characters, creatures, and vehicles through a combination of hand-key and motion capture animation. They will collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to bring characters and environments to life in a turn-based strategy game set in the Star Wars universe. This will be a six-month contract.

Responsibilities:

· Authoring motion for cinematics using a combination of hand-key and motion capture methods

· Collaborating with the cinematic lead to set standards for animation quality

· Owning animation features from concept to completion

· Rapid prototyping and iteration on character conversation systems

· Creating and maintain animation blueprints and Unreal sequencer files

· Aiding in the organization and maintenance of large libraries of motion

· Providing positive and constructive feedback to animators and rigging artists

· Supporting rigging artists in the creation of new rigs and skinning of skeletal meshes

· Creating high quality facial animations using Speech Graphics within Unreal

Qualifications:

· Strong understanding of the principles of animation

· Strong understanding of animation blueprints, sequencer and tools in Unreal Engine

· Experience with mocap retargeting

· Multiple shipped games

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively

· Experience using 3D software (Maya and/or Motion builder preferred)

· Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness

· Strong understanding of the relationship between camera movement and editing along with character performance in creating visually compelling scenes

· Strong self-management, organizational, and communication skills

· Effective time management skills to meet deadlines and milestones

Candidates will be expected to provide a demo reel of their work

Bit Reactor prefers to hire candidates who are located within commuting distance of Hunt Valley, Maryland, or Los Angeles, California for this position.
