Join our dynamic team at PIMCO, a global leader in investment management, as a Senior G/L Accountant. In this role, you will be at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our general ledger accounting for multiple entities. As a Senior G/L Accountant, you will work closely with various departments, leveraging your skills to support complex and industry-specialized transactions. Key Responsibilities
Data Management: Gather data from various sources on a monthly and quarterly basis to update journal entries, accruals, and amortizations, and load them into the general ledger.
Currency Analysis: Analyze journal entries in multiple foreign currencies generated by third-party bookkeeping firms, communicate any issues, and monitor resolution.
Financial Analysis: Perform financial statement analysis, including month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and year-over-year variance analysis, and provide detailed explanations.
Account Reconciliations: Prepare monthly account reconciliations to detail records or sub-ledgers, proactively monitor pending items, perform follow-up as necessary, identify issues, and make corrections.
Automation Projects: Participate in automation projects, including data clean-up, data preparation, testing, and documentation.
Audit Support: Prepare and provide requested support documentation to internal and external auditors.
Team Collaboration: Assist team members and offshore internal/external accountants as needed.
Continuous Learning: Show willingness to learn new tools, and work on ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of three years of public accounting experience, or a minimum of five years of corporate accounting (or a related field) experience.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and higher-level functions). Prior experience with large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft is preferred but not required.
Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding and experience using Accounting Principles.
Multicurrency Transactions: Prior work experience with intercompany and/or multicurrency transactions is preferred but not required.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to effectively and autonomously solve problems.
Attention to Detail: Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and proactively seek clarification or assistance when needed.
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally and succinctly with all levels across the firm.
Quality Commitment: Strong commitment to providing quality work, ensuring it is delivered completely, accurately, and timely.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to respond effectively to inquiries from various levels of management and maintain good working relationships with internal and external contacts.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.Salary Range: $ 85,000.00 - $ 105,000.00
