Qualifications and Requirements

This position requires expertise in the following areas:

Financial Markets & Securities Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of financial markets, with an intermediate proficiency in securities and cryptocurrency terminology and concepts.

Fund Accounting Lifecycle:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the fund accounting lifecycle, including the operational functions necessary to calculate the net asset value (NAV).

Portfolio Accounting:

  • Creation and ongoing maintenance of portfolio investment master records.
  • Processing of trades from centralized and decentralized exchanges.
  • Reconciliation of cash, positions, and profit & loss (P&L) across multiple exchanges, wallets, and custodians.
  • Valuation of investments across diverse asset classes.

Fund/Investor Accounting:

  • Recording of fund operating expenses.
  • Reconciliation of operational bank accounts.
  • Calculation of investor-level fees, including management and performance fees.
  • Expertise in investor performance metrics, such as high-water marks, hurdle rates, and the crystallization of incentive fees.
  • Preparation of financial statements and portfolio schedules.

Onboarding:

  • Assisting in the onboarding of new fund launches and client conversions.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum Experience: At least two years of experience in hedge fund or private equity accounting, with exposure to digital assets (cryptocurrency).
  • Fund Accounting Software: Hands-on experience with fund accounting platforms such as Geneva, FundCount, InvestOne, or VPM.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functionalities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Certifications (Preferred but not Required): CPA, CFA, or MBA.
