Senior Fullstack Platform Go Engineer

   

Summary 

 

This role is part of the Global Tech team, responsible for building and maintaining scalable backend services, event-driven systems, and shared platform capabilities that support a wide range of digital products and internal business functions. As part of the Integration Platform team, this role will frequently interface with multiple engineering and business teams to enable reliable data exchange and system interoperability across the organization. The role requires experience with distributed system design and implementation, the Go programming language, and AWS infrastructure. 

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments. They are eager to grow, have experience with Go or another statically-typed language, experience deploying services to AWS, and demonstrate strong curiosity in finding simple, effective solutions to complex problems. The candidate must work closely with peer development teams to provide thoughtful technical recommendations and drive alignment across systems. 

 

How you will make a difference 

  • Provide clarity by designing distributed systems built from iteratively-shipped components 

  • Contribute to an event system which enables loose coupling across services 

  • Build simple tools to aid our frontline support staff 

  • Maintain a product registration system 

  • Continue to enhance and support our integrations with Point of Sale systems to serve our omni-channel strategy 

  • Manage a clean CI/CD pipeline to deliver robust changes frequently 

  • Design best-fit technical solutionsin collaboration with teammates 

  • Identify and understand root causes of existing problems and propose creative and innovative solutions 

 

What you'll need to win 

  • Experience with Golang, Java, or C++ 

  • Familiarity with evented systems 

  • Strong fundamental knowledge of REST API design 

  • Strong in web fundamentals 

  • Familiar with AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, ECS 

  • Working knowledge of containers, specifically Docker 

  • Strong data modeling and RDBMS experience 

  • Excellence at describing technical designs appropriate to a technical or business audience 

  • Self-motivated teammate who is communicative and collaborative 

  • Comfortable writing and testing your own code that goes to production 

  • Practiced at implementing and monitoring through the three pillars of observability 

 

Preferred qualifications 

  • 8+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or comparable subject area) 

  • 4+ years of proven experience creating technical specifications / designs from business requirements 

  • 2+ years working with Golang or Java or C++ 

  • 2+ years working with Postgres or MySQL (via SQL, not ORM) 

  • Experience of working on at-scale distributed systems 

  • Previous use of Github Actions and Terraform 

  • Server side rendered HTML, plain CSS, and minimal JavaScript 

  • Previous use of HTMX 

  • Comfortable with source code control and versioning tools (Git preferred) 

  • Experience with GitHub, Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, Slack, Dropbox and other collaboration tools 

PAY 

Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations: 

California Base Pay Range: ($137,000 - $198,000 )
