Hi there :)

Thanks for checking in to find out about our open position. We´ll provide as much information as possible, but please feel free to reach us if you have further questions. We´ll be happy to see your application, even if there are skills you don't quite master!

About Us

At South Geeks, we power the evolution of technology by connecting elite LATAM engineers with future-shaping companies. For over 8 years, we’ve built high-performance, culturally aligned teams that thrive on innovation, precision, and collaboration. We care for the people who take care of our clients—creating lasting partnerships and world-class results.

About the Client

Our client provides digital workflow solutions for local governments, helping them modernize operations and improve services for citizens. Their secure, scalable platform supports mission-critical functions such as payments, workflows, reporting, and public-facing applications, driving greater transparency, efficiency, and engagement at the community level.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior .NET Software Engineer to play a critical role in enhancing and expanding this modern local government management platform. This role is ideal for an engineer with deep expertise in .NET technologies, distributed systems, and SQL Server, who is passionate about delivering secure, high-performing enterprise applications.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you’ll design, implement, and optimize services across the platform, partner closely with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior developers while helping shape engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain .NET applications across backend services, APIs, front-end integrations, and Azure-hosted components.

  • Work with SQL Server databases: design schemas, optimize queries, ensure performance and integrity.

  • Enhance and maintain services like authentication, workflow automation, reporting engines, payment processing, and APIs.

  • Collaborate on system architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

  • Partner with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, monitoring (Datadog, New Relic, Sentry), and Azure infrastructure.

  • Mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to onboarding.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to maintain system uptime.

  • Write clean, testable, and well-documented code following best practices and SOLID principles.

What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of professional experience with C# and .NET frameworks.

  • Knowledge of AngularJS.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft IIS, WCF, REST APIs, and Azure App Services.

  • Expertise in SQL Server (schema design, optimization, performance tuning).

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Services (App Service, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Functions).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub-based workflows.

  • Knowledge of front-end integrations (SPAs, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery).

  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with payment gateway integrations (Stripe, Authorize.net, Heartland).

  • Background in workflow automation and reporting systems.

  • Familiarity with SaaS and multi-tenant architectures.

  • Knowledge of security best practices (authentication, authorization, data protection).

  • Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering excellence.

What We Offer
  • Long-term projects with innovative clients.

  • 100% remote work.

  • Paid in USD.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO).

  • English lessons and technical training.

  • Career coaching and mentorship.

  • Work-from-home & training reimbursements.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
