Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Company. Sunbound is building the “financial OS for senior care”. The current senior care payments experience is broken which increases costs and inefficiencies for senior living operators while making it confusing, cumbersome and stressful for families. Sunbound was created to solve this problem by building the first modern platform to handle this process end-to-end and save operators and families time, money and effort.

Mission. Our founders were inspired to start the business after seeing the pain points firsthand with their own families, and deeply care about helping one of the most overlooked groups in our population: seniors. Sunbound’s mission is to make managing money for senior living easy, so our customers can focus on what really matters: providing quality housing & care.

Team. We're a dedicated, close-knit group focused on expanding hubs in Downtown Brooklyn, NYC, and Washington, DC.

Traction. Since launching in mid-2023, we now serve thousands of families. We’re currently doing 7 figures in ARR.

Growth. Sunbound has absolutely caught fire as a business, growing 30% month-over-month. The senior living market is massive at >$230b and is expected to grow rapidly as the “baby boomer” generation continues to age.

Funding. We recently closed our Series A and have raised multiple rounds of funding from top-tier investors including TTV, Fika Ventures, Bling Capital, Liquid2 Ventures, LiveOak Bank, Cambrian Ventures and Max Ventures. We also have backing from key industry strategics including Omega Healthcare Investors (the REIT). These firms have collectively backed over 20 unicorns such as Square, Lyft and Rippling.

We're looking a senior full-stack software engineer to join our team and help us grow our product. This is an early engineering role and will carry a lot of opportunities to help lead and shape product development. We expect this individual to help drive results from Day 1, operate with autonomy, own the details and have the ambition to build a world-class product.

• Assist in architectural and engineering design decisions

• Collaborate cross-functionality on product ideation and direction

• Define solutions to new problems and own the related projects

• Propose, demonstrate, and implement improvements to our tooling stack

• Provide input into how offline processes can best be implemented in product

• Help build an amazing, world-class product

• BA or BS (or Master’s) in Computer Science or related technical discipline

• 8-12+ years of experience in software development

• Experience at fintech companies a major plus

• Experience building software solutions incorporating disparate aspects of complex business processes

• Familiarity and interest with latest technology trends - likes and wants to build in an AI-first way

• Proficiency in full-stack web development

• Proficiency with React

• Proficiency with Node.js or other back end frameworks like Rails or Flask

• Clear communication verbally and in writing with non-technical stakeholders

• Low-ego, tight-knit, collaborative, high-performing team
