Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Who We Are 

We're a founder-led, profitable business building a B2B SaaS platform (in stealth mode) for an industry we operate in and know inside out. The product is fully funded and mostly built, and we're at a critical execution point: migrating to a new platform and shipping a production-ready release for launch.

Who You Are

This role is for a Senior Full-stack Engineer who's hands-on and enjoys stepping into complex systems to get them across the finish line. You get as excited about shipping fast than you do about doing it right. You've worked with business critical applications where test coverage, performance and stability are top of mind. You like owning technology end-to-end, from backend/frontend apps to DevOps.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience working on full-stack apps with a focus on backend
• Proficient with design patterns and best practices on large JS/TS modular monoliths
• Strong proficiency with Node.js backend frameworks such as NestJS or Express
• Proven track record with comprehensive testing strategies using tools like Vitest
• Strong React expertise and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks like Next.js
• Proficiency with AI-powered agentic development tools like Claude Code or Codex

Optional Skills

• DevOps tooling experience including Docker, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and cloud infrastructure
• Track record of creating documentation, processes and workflows for AI-assisted development
• Experience working with point-of-sale and/or e-commerce applications

This Role Is A Good Fit If You

• Are deeply hands-on and still write code regularly
• Have worked on or migrated large codebases
• Are comfortable with ambiguity and tradeoffs
• Enjoy small efficient teams with clear outcomes

This Role Is NOT A Good Fit If You

• Primarily advise or manage rather than implement
• Prefer long discovery phases or large teams
• Are juggling many clients/projects at once
• Avoid touching legacy or imperfect code

Engagement Structure

The engagement is a 3-4 months contract to launch our product. It will include an initial 2-week paid trial with clear deliverables to prove technical acumen, execution velocity and working style.

Assuming a timely and successful delivery of our product, the engagement will likely convert to a full-time position to grow and maintain our platform (contract-to-hire).
