House Rx is on a mission to make specialty medications more affordable and accessible for patients suffering from chronic illnesses like cancer and autoimmune disorders. We provide clinics with specialized technology and support from pharmacists and care coordinators to dispense medication directly to their patients, known as medically integrated dispensing (MID). We are expanding our product team to help fuel our next phase of growth — keep reading to learn more about the role, our team, and why House Rx is the right next step in your career!

About The Role

Our engineering team is scaling quickly and we’re looking to add a Senior Full Stack Engineer  to our team who will take ownership of our Shared Services platform, which will cover the core components that power the entire platform. Your decisions and code will directly shape the platform, and every improvement you make touches the entire product and the people using it. We give you space to lead and run with projects and the opportunity to help set engineering standards for a growing team.

 What You’ll Do

  • Lead and deliver: Take ownership of full stack projects from design through deployment, with timelines of 4–6 weeks. You’ll be responsible for leading delivery of significant projects that are reliable, maintainable with high quality and adherence.
  • Own Shared Services: Drive the architecture, standards, and reliability of core components – authentication, user management, workflow orchestration, patient profiles, and more.
  • Set the bar: Champion automated testing, code quality, and best practices across your pod and the broader engineering org.
  • Collaborate & mentor: Work closely with teammates to elevate technical standards and share knowledge.
  • Drive impact: Within 30 days, you’ll understand the systems you own and deploy meaningful code into production. Within 60 days, you’ll take ownership of some of the projects within the pod and lead them to completion. Within 90 days, you’ll be shaping a roadmap to improve quality and processes.

About You

You are an experienced full-stack generalist, known for building complex features, driving impactful projects across the stack, and helping others grow through mentorship.

  • ~7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with TypeScript and React as core tools.
  • Deep understanding of REST APIs -  able to design, implement, and explain the semantics of REST verbs and status codes.
  • Ability to break down complex product requirements and UI designs into manageable tasks and ultimately deliver intuitive, high-performance UIs.
  • Strong backend and database skills, with experience delivering full stack projects end-to-end.
  • Track record of leading complex projects and seeing them through with accountability, quality, and timeliness.
  • Experience in late-stage startups or similarly fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
  • Passion for testing, automation, and technical excellence.
  • Thrives as a strong IC with the desire to grow toward staff/tech lead level.

In particular, we offer:

  • Flexible work hours and flexible paid time off
  • Generous parental leave
  • Comprehensive healthcare, vision and dental benefits
  • Competitive salary and equity stake

Expected Full-Time Base Salary:  $160,000 - $210,000

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary/wage. The actual base salary/wage will depend on several factors, including experience, knowledge, and skills. Actual compensation packages may include other elements equity, paid time off and benefits.

We’re backed by forward-thinking investors committed to transforming healthcare, including Bessemer Venture Partners, First Round Capital, LRV Health, Khosla Ventures, Maverick Ventures, 1984.vc, and Character.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
