You will own high-stakes projects end-to-end, with a specific focus on the unauthenticated and early-funnel user journey. This is a high-impact role where you will architect scalable systems using React and Next.js, implement robust experimentation strategies, and elevate the technical standards of the entire engineering organization.

Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Leadership: Lead the design and delivery of complex web initiatives from ideation and architectural design through rollout and iteration.

  • Conversion Optimization: Drive improvements in user acquisition by optimizing browsing experiences and login flows (e.g., One Tap, FedCM, social authentication).

  • System Architecture: Architect and implement scalable, high-performance frontend systems using React and Next.js.

  • Performance Engineering: Identify and execute opportunities to improve site performance, focusing on Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse scores, and advanced data-fetching strategies.

  • Data-Driven Growth: Define and implement A/B testing, feature flags, and progressive rollouts to inform product decisions with real-time data.

  • Observability & Analytics: Elevate tracking, telemetry, and error monitoring to provide deep visibility into user behavior and system reliability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to shape the roadmap and prioritize high-impact work.

  • Platform Enhancement: Contribute to SEO strategies and content platform improvements, including CMS integrations and structured data.

  • Mentorship: Raise the bar for code quality and engineering practices by mentoring other engineers and improving developer experience.

Qualifications and Job Requirements
  • Must-Have:

    • Experience: 5+ years of experience building modern, large-scale web applications.

    • Core Stack: Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.

    • Web Performance Mastery: Deep understanding of Core Web Vitals, SSR/CSR tradeoffs, caching, and Lighthouse optimization.

    • Growth Engineering: Proven experience designing and running A/B tests and managing gradual feature rollouts.

    • Data Systems: Strong experience with analytics, tracking, and telemetry systems.

    • Full-Stack Familiarity: Experience working across the stack (Node.js and/or Ruby on Rails) and integrating with complex APIs.

    • Architectural Vision: Ability to make high-level decisions that balance speed, scalability, and maintainability.

    Nice-to-Have:

    • Auth Systems: Experience with modern authentication (OAuth, Google One Tap, FedCM).

    • SEO: Knowledge of technical SEO best practices.

    • Observability: Experience with platforms like Datadog or similar error-monitoring tools.

    • Content Management: Familiarity with headless CMS platforms like Contentful.

    • DevEx: Experience improving developer tooling, documentation, and internal workflows.

What We Offer
  • 100% Remote Work: Enjoy the freedom to work from the location that helps you thrive. All it takes is a laptop and a reliable internet connection.

  • Highly Competitive USD Pay: Earn an excellent, market-leading compensation in USD, that goes beyond typical market offerings.

  • Paid Time Off: We value your well-being. Our paid time off policies ensure you have the chance to unwind and recharge when needed.

  • Work with Autonomy: Enjoy the freedom to manage your time as long as the work gets done. Focus on results, not the clock.

  • Work with Top American Companies: Grow your expertise working on innovative, high-impact projects with Industry-Leading U.S. Companies.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
