Liminal is building the future of generative AI security—bringing safe, reliable AI to regulated industries. We're a revenue-generating, well-capitalized startup backed by one of the top-performing venture studios in the U.S.
As a Senior Front-End Engineer, you’ll take ownership of our UI architecture and user experience. You’ll be a foundational product team member, collaborating closely with engineering, product, and design to turn complex AI workflows into elegant interfaces. This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about usability, sweats the details, and loves building from 0 to 1.
What You’ll Do:- Collaborate with our Tech Lead and existing front-end team to build performant, user-friendly interfaces for our B2B SaaS platform.
- Lead the development of scalable React + TypeScript components with a keen eye for clean, maintainable code.
- Translate wireframes and prototypes into responsive, accessible, production-ready UI, working closely with Product and Design to improve UX iteratively.
- Own front-end performance and reliability: implement optimizations (lazy loading, caching, etc.), debug issues, and ensure a smooth experience across devices and browsers.
- Contribute to our front-end architecture and technical direction—helping shape patterns, tooling, and decisions as we scale.
- Review code, mentor junior engineers, and foster a high-bar engineering culture.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, and collaborate with QA to validate features.
- Participate in agile rituals (stand-ups, sprint planning, retros) and cross-functional delivery efforts.
- Stay current on emerging front-end trends, sharing knowledge and championing modern practices.
- Take absolute ownership of your work from commit to customer impact.
- 4+ years of front-end development experience in product-focused teams.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and React (including advanced hooks, context, component composition).
- Firm grasp of HTML/CSS fundamentals, responsive design, and modern layout techniques.
- Experience with state management tools (Redux, Recoil, MobX, or similar).
- Skilled at integrating with RESTful APIs and collaborating closely with back-end engineers.
- Familiarity with front-end testing (Jest, React Testing Library, etc.) and debugging tools.
- Comfortable with Git workflows and standard build tools (Webpack, Babel, npm/Yarn).
- Understanding of CI/CD and how front-end fits into deployment pipelines.
- Clear communicator who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive projects forward.
- You experiment with new tools or build side projects to learn—that curiosity carries through to your day job.
- Have open-source contributions or personal projects you’re proud of.
- Stay current on front-end trends via reading, experimentation, or community involvement.
- Have experience mentoring, setting standards, or shaping design systems.
- $130k - $150k annual salary based on experience + equity participation
- We are kind. We assume positive intent, celebrate co-workers' success, avoid toxic behaviors, and call out bad acting when we see it.
- We earn trust by being authentic, humble, and empathetic. Empathy is the cornerstone of building trust, and trust is a requirement in a world that is certain to be full of change.
- We are fearless, bold, honest, direct, and candid. We dare to challenge assumptions and push boundaries, and are not afraid when someone challenges us. If we make mistakes, which we will, they are unique and good opportunities to learn.
- We value discourse, not dissonance. Constructive discourse is exceptionally healthy and desirable. Expect to be challenged and rise to the occasion! Create space for the best ideas to rise to the top and let data be the ultimate decision-maker, not emotion.
- We seek understanding, not consensus. As leaders, we stand firm in our informed convictions until data overturns them. It’s healthy to disagree, but we commit to the outcome.
- We are owners. We empower each other to solve problems and take the initiative to meet our goals. We are purposeful and intentional in our thinking and know that we are individually accountable for our impacts on the company's results.
Liminal is an equal-opportunity employer, and we value diversity at our company. We don’t discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
