About the Role:

The Senior Fraud & Payment Orchestration Specialist is dedicated to protecting the platform's revenue and customers by leading our global payments and fraud strategy.

We are looking for a strategic and technically experienced specialist to scale our payments and fraud orchestration capabilities — including payment routing optimization, PSP partnerships, fraud mitigation, chargeback operations, transaction risk management, and cost-efficient processing at scale. You love data, you are curious, and detail-oriented. You will work on some of the most critical and high-visibility monetization and fraud challenges we are facing.

You are an innovative self-starter who is motivated by our mission and will be able to design, implement, and continually optimize systems that improve payment performance, mitigate fraud, and support global growth. You have experience leading cross-functional initiatives, communicating clearly with leadership, and staying calm under pressure. Successful candidates must be proficient in payments infrastructure, fraud operations, data analytics, and modern orchestration technologies.

We are looking for candidates that are open to hybrid work schedule at our Los Angeles or Dallas offices. We are in office, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and we work from home, Monday and Friday. You will report to the Senior Manager, Service Monetization Orchestration.

What You'll Do:Responsibilities
  • Evolve and scale a global Payment Orchestration Engine, including multi-PSP tokenization, BIN-aware routing, retry logic, and fraud-aware routing strategies across Payment Service Providers.
  • Analyze large payments datasets to surface insights, measure trends, and guide optimization.
  • Lead and document comprehensive investigations and analyses into payment performance, fraud, and chargeback trends.
  • Evolve and maintain a Fraud Orchestration Engine by integrating transaction scoring models, rules-based logic, and real-time risk signals.
  • Create high-quality reports and executive briefings on payment and fraud performance, ensuring clarity, visibility, and relevant insights.
  • Own and optimize chargeback operations, including prevention, dispute handling, and reporting.
  • Monitor and report on important fraud and payments KPIs, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Evaluate and optimize fraud tools, Payment Service Providers, vendors, and machine learning models.
  • Develop policies, strategies, and procedures for payment orchestration and fraud prevention.
  • Stay ahead of the latest fraud tactics, payment technologies, and global regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR, CCPA).
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Legal to deliver scalable, compliant, and customer-friendly payment and fraud mitigation solutions.
  • Partner across teams to embed fraud mitigation and risk-aware decisioning into customer journeys with minimal friction.
What Success Looks Like:
  • Improved trial-to-paid conversion rates and higher subscription renewal success.
  • Reduction in payment declines, involuntary churn, chargebacks, fraud losses, and fraud-related fees.
  • A resilient and flexible multi-PSP and fraud decisioning stack, capable of dynamic failover, adaptive routing, and real-time risk mitigation.
  • Reduce costs to finance through optimized payment routing and fraud operations.
  • Full regulatory compliance globally, including PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR, and new payment and fraud regulations.
  • Insights to guide an evolving fraud and payment strategy that adapts to technological innovation, changing fraud tactics, and market shifts.
What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of experience in payments, fraud operations, fintech, or subscription-based businesses within a global, high-scale environment.
  • Expertise in payment processing, PSP management, routing, tokenization, retries, fraud prevention, chargeback management, and risk-aware decisioning.
  • Experience building or operating a Payment and/or Fraud Orchestration Engine or similarly complex transaction infrastructure.
  • Analytical experience using SQL, Python, or similar tools to guide insights and optimization.
  • Experience communicating and presenting complex findings to senior team members.
  • Knowledge of fraud prevention techniques, risk scoring models, rules engines, and third-party fraud prevention tools.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR, CCPA, and other global payments and data compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in streaming, subscription-based platforms, or global consumer internet companies.
  • Experience leading projects with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Familiarity with machine learning-driven fraud models, payment optimization engines, and advanced risk decisioning tools.
  • A network within the payments, fintech, fraud, or PSP ecosystem.
  • BS or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
