Overview

Senior Flutter Engineers at VGV are well-trusted members of the team that can resolve almost every single technical challenge they face without guidance. They have a really good understanding of the project domain, and the rest of the team relies on them for efficient planning and collaboration methods.

We are seeking a Senior Flutter Engineer to support an exciting and complex project with an enterprise grade client. This is a full-time employment opportunity for engineers available to work in U.S. Eastern Time (ET) or Central Time (CT).

Senior Flutter Engineers are considered project captains: they are brand ambassadors, they deliver the project following VGV’s quality standards, and they help other members of the team to grow, comparing their success to the success and growth of the team they lead.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers high-quality, scalable, and performant software solutions, taking ownership of the most complex parts of project development.
  • Solves complex problems with clear, easy-to-understand solutions.
  • Leads scoping and estimating activities, collaborating with peers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Actively participates in code reviews, using these opportunities to mentor and coach team members.
  • Leads code pairing sessions and guides team members on effective practices.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to organizational standards and processes using creativity and technical expertise.
  • Attends meetings and team ceremonies punctually.
  • Provides detailed status updates on work during team meetings.
  • Architects, documents, and completes software solutions within agreed timelines.
  • Acts as a trusted team and project leader, comfortable leading all aspects of a project, from architecture to feature development.
  • Serves as a role model for engineers within the team.
  • Ensures projects include comprehensive and easy-to-understand onboarding materials.
  • Negotiates timelines and estimations effectively with stakeholders.
  • Unblocks the team in times of uncertainty, providing clear guidance.
  • Communicates with clarity and authority during demos, status updates, and other ceremonies.
  • Mentors engineers with empathy, patience, and gratitude, fostering growth within the team.
  • Actively shares their professional journey and experiences in preferred channels (local meetups, LinkedIn)
  • Contributes regularly to VGV’s communication channels (for example, blog posts and team presentations)
  • Actively engages in community activities representing VGV, such as conferences, speaking events, open-source contributions, etc.

Qualifications

  • 4 to 7+ years of professional experience working as a software Flutter engineer in a team environment.
  • Must be available to work in U.S. Eastern Time (ET) or Central Time (CT).
  • Strong understanding of software development at scale.
  • Native iOS or Android coding expertise (or proficiency in C, Rust, and/or C++) is required.
  • Proven experience with mobile development and proficiency in multiple frameworks, specifically using Flutter, React Native or Angular is essential.
  • Solid understanding of legacy system integration processes and challenges.
  • Familiarity with modular architecture and micro-services integrations.
  • Positive recommendations from your previous managers and teammates.
  • Demonstrated passion for consulting.

Nice to Have

  • AI and/or AWS certifications (highly valued)
  • Hands-on experience with legacy systems, transitioning or integrating them into modern platforms.
  • Experience designing or managing modular architectures or implementing micro-services integrations effectively.

  • VGV wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to compensation and benefits. The initial annual base salary for this position is expected to range from $120k -$170k. We benchmark every role based on location and against comparable companies to ensure competitiveness; however, actual compensation is highly dependent on numerous factors such as location, experience, knowledge and skills, qualifications and other job-related factors.To further support your growth at our company, VGV also offers the following:
