Here’s how you’ll make a huge impact here – and on your career:
The Analytics team at Versapay unlocks growth and drives efficiency through data-driven insights. As our Senior Financial Strategy & Analytics Analyst, you will be the primary data partner for our Finance organization, bridging the gap between raw data in Snowflake and strategic decisions made by the office of the CFO.
You will play a pivotal role in modernizing how Versapay reports on its financial health. Moving beyond manual spreadsheet aggregation, you will build scalable data models and dashboards that provide real-time visibility into our performance for our executive team and investors.
While your immediate focus will be on creating a reliable, self-serve data infrastructure, your role will evolve to include deep econometric research. You will help Versapay leverage its massive transaction volume to uncover macro-trends, supporting our goal to become a thought leader in the AR space.
Reporting to the VP of Analytics but functioning as a dedicated partner to the Finance team, you will:
What you'll do:
- Build & Automate Financial Reporting: Take ownership of the data pipelines required for monthly financial reporting. You will replace manual jobs with automated, reliable SQL-based workflows that feed directly into Tableau and Board materials.
- Develop Financial Data Models: Work within our Snowflake environment to create and maintain clean, documented data models that allow the FP&A team to intuitively access core metrics like ARR, NRR, and Gross Margin with confidence.
- Executive & Investor Support: Partner with FP&A leadership to support ad-hoc analysis for Board decks and investor inquiries. You will ensure that the data backing our financial narrative is accurate, traceable, and consistent.
- Econometric Analysis: Execute advanced research projects analyzing our annual transaction volume. You will apply statistical methods to identify macroeconomic trends and correlation, contributing to white papers and strategic market positioning.
- Drive Data Adoption: Act as a subject matter expert for the Finance team, helping them transition from static spreadsheets to dynamic data tools. You will identify opportunities to replace repetitive tasks with automated insights.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a data analytics role with a heavy focus on Finance, FP&A, or Business Operations.
- Advanced SQL Proficiency: You can write complex queries from scratch, optimize performance, and understand data lineage. You don't just query data; you know how to structure it for others to use.
- BI & Visualization: Strong experience building executive-level dashboards in Tableau (or similar) that communicate financial concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Financial Literacy: You have a solid grasp of SaaS metrics (ARR, Churn, Retention) and financial statements. You can converse confidently with Finance professionals about their data needs.
- Statistical Competency: Experience with regression analysis, forecasting, or econometric modeling.
What you will bring to the team:
- A "Builder" Mindset: You are comfortable working in an environment where processes are not yet fully defined. You see the opportunity to build a financial data engine from the ground up rather than just maintaining an existing one.
- Technical Independence: You are self-sufficient in Python and SQL. You can source your own data, clean it, and model it without constant reliance on data engineers.
- Clear Communication: You can explain technical data constraints to financial stakeholders and financial requirements to technical teams.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience interacting with private equity stakeholders or working in a PE-backed environment.
- Domain expertise in Fintech or B2B Payments
- Background in Economics, working with large-scale economic datasets or indices.
- Experience coding in Python for data analysis or automation.
