The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst prepares and distributes internal reporting packages, performs financial analysis, identifies continuous improvement opportunities within the reporting process, and collaborates across departments to achieve strategic objectives.  This position reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in preparation and timely distribution of monthly internal reporting packages, including compilation and reporting on various performance metrics. Performance metrics are focused heavily on non-GAAP metrics including, but not limited to, variations of net operating income, adjusted EBITDA, and revenue, same-store performance, and leasing data (e.g. cumulative contracted revenue, new business booked, revenue backlog, or revenue loss reporting).

  • Assist in the preparation of board and audit committee materials.

  • Compile debt compliance reporting deliverables relating to leasing data.

  • Analyze various sets of data and financial statements to perform variance research.

  • Support ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis requests as needed.

  • Partnering with Blackstone to develop new and/or modified financial reporting outputs.

  • Leverage systems, programs, and platforms (OfficeConnect, Workday, Salesforce, Tableau, Excel) to automate manual processes and develop new, efficient reporting workflows.

  • Use accounting concepts, experience, and analytical skills to resolve issues in creative and effective ways.

  • Participate and actively engage/collaborate with other teams within QTS on strategic initiatives which require reporting and/or analytic support.

  • Maintain effective controls over financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of reported financial information.

  • Effective communication and explanation of financial metrics to various groups within the organization (e.g. accounting, strategic planning & investments, capital markets, asset management, budgeting, etc.)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

  • Three or more years of relevant experience in financial reporting, accounting, or financial analysis.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (mastery of formulas and functions).

  • Experience in interpreting and analyzing large data sets.

  • Experience integrating fragmented data sources into cohesive datasets.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

  • Experience with MS Power Platform tools, Workday, Adaptive, and OfficeConnect.

  • Experience using business analysis and data visualization tools beyond Excel (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Hyperion, Snowflake, SQL, Python).

  • Progressive experience in contributing to continuous improvement projects with measurable results, while leveraging technology to increase efficiency, enhance workflow fidelity, and reduce cycle times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical/technical skills with experience analyzing and interpreting financial data.

  • Working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules & regulations.

  • Ability to assess workflow strengths and weaknesses, drive proactive improvements, and foster peer skill development.

  • Detail-oriented: prepares accurate and timely work product.

  • Professional agility to adapt to changing team needs and priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Sound organizational skills necessary to prioritize multiple projects of varying duration and ad-hoc requests.

  • Ability to take initiative, ask for and offer help when needed, and work independently without being prompted.

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
