A Day in the LifeThis position is a key member of the Global Operations & Supply Chain Operations Innovation team, supporting the Finance lead for Strategic Programs. The role partners most closely with the Operations Innovation finance organization to manage Business Cases, forecasting and analysis processes.
This role is critical to deliver on the financial commitments, and continuously drive improvements, standardization, and efficiencies within Operations Innovation.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs and analyzes month end close processes & analysis – including WBS & CC management, expense reclasses, report preparation and consolidation and Planisware/SAP tie outs

  • Collaborate on Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Strat Plan and other forecast cycles – including prioritization analysis and OneStream tie-outs

  • Business Partner with Strategic Program leadership and their teams – including support & analysis on business cases, savings calculations, financial policies and CARs

  • Leverage strong problem-solving to tackle challenges related to financial reporting, forecasting and analysis. Seek innovative solutions that can streamline processes

  • Maintain clear and organized documentation of processes and improvements made

  • Develop ad hoc reports to support analyses. Work on special requests, projects, and financial presentations for management as required

  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides insights to management.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Medtronic financial systems: SAP

  • Is a collaborator in a matrix structure with excellent communication skills

  • Has strong ability to partner with senior leadership and others and builds relationship networks at all levels

  • Experience with Medtronic financial systems: OneStream

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including the ability to identify key trends and drivers

  • Global Experience, working in large, complex, matrix organizations

  • Exposure to Operations and/or accounting for Operations

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating actionable insights and analysis

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Ability to develop solutions and/or innovative ideas to problems and ensure that solutions are consistent with the organization’s objectives

SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects – from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education.

Innovation and Complexity: Problems and issues faced are difficult, and may require understanding of multiple issues, job areas or specialties . Makes improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of the job area. Analysis provided is in-depth in nature and often provides recommendations on process improvements.

Communication and Influence: Communicates with senior internal and external customers and vendors. Exchange information of facts, statuses, ideas and issues to achieve objective, and influence decision-making.

Leadership and Talent Management: May provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. May manage projects, requiring delegation of work and review of others' work product .

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$85,600.00 - $128,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
