Senior Financial Analyst
Maxar is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Business Operations Finance team. This role will serve as a key member of the team reporting to the Finance Director of Business Operations. This position will be responsible for delivering value-added business analysis as well as defining and reporting meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to insightful, accurate business decisions with a concentration in cost management.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. • The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $74,000.00 - $122,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $81,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $85,000.00 - $141,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.

Senior Financial Analyst
Maxar is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Business Operations Finance team. This role will serve as a key member of the team reporting to the Finance Director of Business Operations. This position will be responsible for delivering value-added business analysis as well as defining and reporting meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to insightful, accurate business decisions with a concentration in cost management.
Responsibilities :
- Act as the key finance business partner for the Business Operations team working directly with ELT business partners.
- Develop and monitor the annual budget and monthly expense forecast.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly budget versus actual variance analysis and continuously drive forecast accuracy improvements.
- Support monthly and quarterly internal and external reporting, including Monthly Business Reviews, Board of Director meetings, and other reviews as necessary.
- Continuously develop systems and processes. Evaluate current processes, identify best practices, develop plans to reach goals and implement improvements.
- Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.
- Prepare periodic and ad hoc financial models, forecasts, reports and analyses, as needed.
- Continuously drive forecast accuracy improvements and provide plans for any corrective course of action as needed.
Requirements :
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required
- Bachelor's degree in finance or similar field (accounting, business management, etc.), MBA preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of finance, FP&A, or accounting experience
- High proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred :
- Strong accounting background, to include understanding of financial statement interaction and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- SAP S/4 HANA and/or Workday Adaptive experience
- Able to work well with senior executives and team
- Able to work in a dynamic, complex environment as a self-starter who can quickly understand and develop processes
