Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the annual budget and rolling forecasts
- Analyze the monthly financial performance and support accounting month-end close activities
- Build and maintain weekly and monthly models for key operational and financial performance metrics, including KPI scorecards with a focus on cloud consumption
- Create and deliver financial presentations to leadership with recommendations and financial implications of proposed decisions with an emphasis on rightsizing our cloud environments
- Leverage understanding of financial modeling, and a hypothesis-based approach to identify, validate and quantify multiyear agreements and long term savings plan commitments
- Demonstrate aptitude for critical thinking in complex situations with the ability to synthesize ambiguous data into concrete results
- Track future pending commitments
- Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a clear, compelling message for the business
- Perform ad-hoc analysis related to cost-savings opportunities, capital expenditures, and other corporate initiatives
- Acts as steward of financial accuracy and data integrity
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- MBA or MS-Finance is a plus but not required
- 4+ years of experience in an accounting/finance environment, preferably in the telecom or tech industries
Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Proficiency with financial tools (e.g., Smartview, Onestream)
- Understanding of business financial and accounting concepts (Accruals, Reversal, GAAP principles, etc.)
- Intellectual curiosity, outstanding problem solving and strong analytical skills with the ability to seek, organize, analyze, and draw valid conclusions with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills, well-developed oral and written presentation skills, with the ability to summarize complex concepts into understandable and easy-to-follow presentation materials to communicate effectively with senior executives
