C3 AI is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team in Redwood City. This is a broad, high-impact role touching all areas of FP&A — revenue, expenses, headcount, KPIs, and business partnering with key leaders across the company. You will work closely with Sales, Operations, and department heads to deliver the financial insights and operational rigor that drive strategic decisions at the leadership level.

We are looking for someone who brings genuine financial rigor and a builder's mindset — someone who sees a manual process and is compelled to automate it, who is fluent with AI tools (particularly Claude) and has a demonstrated track record of using them to do more with less. Our Finance team should operate the way we tell our customers to operate: AI-first, fast, and continuously improving. If you have built models, dashboards, or workflows that save your team hours every week, we want to hear about it.

Please note that this position is full-time and located onsite at our Redwood City office.

Requirements

  • Build and maintain a dynamic revenue model that incorporates real-time qualified pipeline data, applies cohort logic, and produces scenario analyses that guide strategic decisions
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to define, track, and interpret core KPIs and translate the story behind the numbers for leadership
  • Deliver clear, high-quality financial narrative for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, as well as long-range planning and external guidance in partnership with Investor Relations
  • Manage expense forecasting, headcount planning, and ongoing business partnership with key department heads across the company
  • Identify and lead initiatives to automate, streamline, and scale Finance's reporting and analytical infrastructure — using AI tools, scripting, or whatever it takes to eliminate manual work and improve accuracy
  • Build ad hoc analyses and scenario models that inform business-critical decisions in a fast-moving environment

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a STEM-related field
  • 2–4 years of progressive experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, or FP&A
  • Deep financial modeling expertise — you can build a clean, auditable model from scratch across revenue, expenses, and headcount, and you know exactly why every assumption matters
  • Strong understanding of software business metrics (ARR, NRR, churn, etc.) and familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition
  • Hands-on proficiency with AI tools — particularly Claude — and a genuine track record of building automations, agents, or analytical tools that improve speed, accuracy, or scale in a Finance context. This is not a nice-to-have
  • Strong communicator who can distill complexity for both financial and non-financial audiences, including senior leadership
  • Proactive, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating with ambiguity in a high-growth environment
  • A team player who holds themselves to a high bar and makes the people around them better

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future company sponsorship.

C3 AI provides excellent benefits, a competitive compensation package and generous equity plan.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
